The author suggests Spam if you are too broke to afford meat. I don't know if that's true. I can get a rotisserie chicken at Walmart for $3.97. $5.97 if I want it hot. A can of Spam is $4.14. I don't see Spam as a substitute for meat in terms of cost, just another type of meat. Still, it keeps well in the can and unused portions can be frozen - I slice mine up into serving sizes so that I'm not trying to thaw out a big hunk o'Spam.
Questions for the assembled masses:
Should we be offended by the bottle of Pepto in the picture?
Who had a phone like this?
I'll just leave this here. I couldn't get past the Spam in water. And poking a good cleaver into the can? Nope. Other than that, would you make this meal? Is it too much effort for lunch?
Hmm. I like a good kielbasa link or a brat, but with a nice casing that crunches when you bite in. Not sure if Spam dogs will have that crunch, but can't fault them for the new product.
It's a bit darker than showing here. Very nice and sparkly - also not showing here. : (
A 2019 recipe.
I actually chose my Spam picture the other day, so I it was serendipity to see the Spam 'fair food' video just now. They both look good.
I don't know. I'm thinking the waffle might be too thick for me and difficult to control while eating. Too much much bread, not enough Spam. Maybe that can be resolved with more Spam and some cheese with the egg. Maybe.
As usual, I think it would be better if you pan-fried the Spam first, then added it. Otherwise, a good, simple, recipe. I like the blend of mayo, mustard, and BBQ sauce.
Note to diabetics - reducing the amount of pasta and having the protein and fat in the salad make it an acceptable choice - especially if you just have a serving at a time and don't put your head in the bowl as some of us are wont to do.
I recently made macaroni salad for myself for the first time in years. My chatbot suggested adding chicken to it, which sounded anathema, but I pulled a can of chicken breast from my prepper stash, shredded it up, and put it in the salad. I didn't even notice because canned chicken on its own doesn't have much taste, so I wound up with macaroni salad that wouldn't spike my blood glucose. The spam and cheese here will do the same thing. Use no or low sugar BBQ sauce and maybe go a little heavier on the chopped veggies.
Someone said the picture was very blurry. Sorry. It looked fine when I posted it.
Happy Mother's Day. In celebration of the day, I'm going low effort and suggesting this dish, which actually looks pretty good. I make something similar with kielbasa, but Spam works.
