Batch cook and freeze legumes, beans and pulses!

I have a cheapo version of an instant pot, and I have started buying dried puy lentils, mung beans, and Chickpeas.

I cook them with stock and then freeze them in weighed portions which amount to about 200kcal depending on the bean etc.

Tonight I had mung beans fried with 1/4 tbsn of avocado oil, half an onion, 2 fried eggs and some chilli crisp oil. It was 600 kcal and it was 10 minutes to puf together. It was oh so good, honestly, it made me not even care the family were eating home made French bread pizza.

It's the way to go!

Fighting medications that cause weight gain. Help!

Hey 👋

So for context, I have been taking a medication called Quetapine for just over 10 years. Quetiapine is horrendously renowned for insatiable appetite and weight gain. To complicate matters, I have to take dmards and steroids.

I was 300lbs when I started on quetiapine, that increased to 370lbs over the 10 years I have been on it.

I lost 45lbs over a year in 2024/25 by stopping snacking and fasting from 8pm to 8am (my danger time for endless eating) . It was part of a 'show us you can change your lifestyle ' qualification gambit for nhs prescribed mounj. It was hell. Every damn day.

I qualified, though then found out I have a maximum of a 2 years of prescription (I've already lost the qualification amount 5% body weight for the 2 years) but that includes tapering, so kind of feel like I'm on a time limit here.

I started taking GLP 1 jabs in very late October last year. Side effects have been minimal, and actually, my ibs has cleared up greatly.

I eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day 200kcal high protein breakfast, 500kcal high protein lunch, and a lean meat/fish, potato or rice and veg meal in the evening. Definitely in the emotional zone of food as nourishing fuel, and I don't hate that tbh.

I am losing weight, but it's soooo slooooooow. I have lost 48lbs in 6 months, which is great, but I still have so much more (180lbs) left to lose! I am wondering whether anyone else has a similar experience and has advice for me? Tips, tricks, and successful activities - all welcome.

Anyone Else got GLP1 experience whilst taking quetiapine?

Hey 👋

So for context, I have been taking 200mg Quetapine for just over 10 years, I take it with 200mg Sertraline and together, along with talking therapy and managing my triggers they are my treatment programme for Bi Polar Affected Disorder, which I was diagnosed with 20+ years ago.

To complicate matters, I have an autoimmune disease for which I take dmards and steroids.

I have been on many different medication programmes before this combination and have never been as stable as I am on this particular regime and have no interest in changing. However I was 140lbs overweight when I started on quetiapine, which has steadily increased to 230lbs overweight over the 10 years I was on it.

I started taking GLP 1 jabs in October last year. Side effects have been minimal, and actually, my ibs has cleared up greatly.

Witchy Curve recommendations please!

Retail Brand: none.

OK fellow UK Nail Nerds. I need your help.

My own personal taste runs to nails that look like they belong on a hammer horror set. I love me a witchy curve to my nail.

Most nails I see are like the 1st pic, which is a nail reformation set I bought. NR are very nice and really good retention, sturdiness, etc. But the flatness of the profile is just not my vibe. The red line is the profile I'm after.

The second picture is a cheap-ass elegant touch set in stiletto. Not very good on strength, retention OK, but that witchy profile 👌 👏. No notes.

I have purchased Doobys nails in the past in their almond which have that same witchy profile, but their CS is rubbish, and their prices are high for the quality imo.

Full cover tips, or press on nails, all recommendations welcome.

Boob sidey flaps and back squish, Bra/shapewear recommendations.

Hi everyone. OK. So, I have a problem.

I have gone from a 48 G to a 40 G, and I am struggling to find a bra that does the following:

  1. Big enough cup size

  2. Tucks in the baps nicely and perkily an underwire is usually essential for my shape

  3. Is deep enough at the side to make sure the side flap of loose skin that used to be side boob isn't spilling out

  4. Is high enough under the rear of the armpit to keep the loose back boob skin from spilling over the top

Has anyone found a holy grail product?

I would be open to shapewear as long as it's not too expensive as I'm only halfway through my weight loss.

Thank you

Retail Brand: Nyk1 brush on glue

It's happened. My glue bottle has reached It's sell by date. I had a day 1 pop off (unheard of!), and the rest of the set were off within the next 2 days, with glue covering the natural nail, happily no natural nail damage, or residue on the press on nail.

It's lasted me 6 sets, is still 2/3 full, but it has proved itself unreliable and has to go.

Good bye, you will be replaced.

▲ 26 r/NailArt

Hi all.

I've started doing very basic nail art with my 20 yr old daughter as our weekly mum/daughter bonding session. We both love it!

I have seen a few Pinterest pics of moths etc, spread over 3 or 4 nails, they look like transfers?

I have no idea what they're called and have had absolutely no luck on Google. I wonder if anyone could tell me what this type of transfers/stickers decals, etc, are called that create an image which is divided between the nails.

I've created a rough mock up to hopefully describe what I mean. And attached the pic I found, with the artist's name attached for sake of fairness.

I did a snake for ease, all design styles welcome lol.

Thank you for any help.

I love the shape of the black nails (elegant touch) but the quality of the purple (Nail Reformation) is so much better. Can anyone help?

I would like the sort of claw like curve of the black nails but in the better quality nail type.

Hope that makes sense!

Retail Brand : elegant touch cats eye, Nail Reformation, moot cat?.

Hi peeples. I have a problem, well like 4 problems.

I LOVE my press ons like, legit feel human-er. So many health issues, and so much pain follow me every day and so I take my wins where I can!

Problem 1- I have absolutely no chill about my nails and get 2 damn weeks of solid hold on my current method, and I get bored easy.

Problem 2 - I have some thinning of my nails, I have very very thin and brittle nails anyway, and actually think of press ons as something of a protective measure, however, see problem 1.

Problem 3 - I am an absolute heathen when it comes to reming my nails. As soon as I get the teeniest bit of lifting whoops, there goes the teefs on the flick flick peel combo, annnnd see problem 1 and 2.

Problem 4 - I am a bit concerned about the thinning in the areas shown, however I wear press ons 85% of the time and so, it really isn't usually a big deal and grows out well on its own with no trauma to my nail bed. But see problem 1.

And so ... I have so many new sets I want to wear and as soon as the bug bites I need to change them.

I am hoping to try a glue/tab combo for my next few sets. I wondered if anyone had any experience with using glue on the natural nail, then a tab, and then a layer of glue on the press on nail? Does it make removal easier 🤔
