Tried TJ Maxx. You guys weren't kidding!

Got a visa gift card from a student for the end of the year and decided to treat-yo-self. You guys weren't kidding about TJ Maxx! There were a ton at my store and I was able to pick out ones I really liked, not just something that was cheap and available. Can't decide which ones to wear to graduation tomorrow!

Retail Brand: Nail Reformation and Celebritips.

Style: not sure cause Nail Reformation doesn't seem to put style names on the boxes? Weird.

Kiss Impress Sizing

Just getting into press-ons for the first time after being a salon girl. Did some research, collected all my supplies, and was about to apply my first pair yesterday. Thought I'd start with Kiss Impress because they're no-glue. I have pretty small fingers, or so I thought. The biggest thumb nail (size zero) is too small. Like a lot too small. The other fingers all fit. So I have 3 sets of Impress that I can't wear. I guess I can use the other nails as accent nails sometime, so not a total loss. Am I the only one? Am I crazy? Do I have man-hands? Lol

I blame all of you, lovingly ✨

Retail Brand: Nail Reformation (none of them have names)
Celebritips - Mon Cheri
Sukoshi - unnamed

Because of y’all I know now that marshall’s & TJMaxx carry press ons. I don’t shop at either place often so I’ve never noticed before. But since I was out & about today I decided to pop in & see what I could find. I’m obsessed and I don’t know which set to wear first 😍

the sukoshi ones I found at a small mall shop separately.

What's the catch?

I recently rediscovered press on nails and I'm so impressed by how their quality has significantly improved. The last time I really wore press ons was maybe 20 years ago and they looked very fake, poorly applied, and would fall off easily.

A friend told me about Curvlife and I ordered some to test out...and so far I am very impressed. I got their semi solid glue they sell separately and the hold is so good. It felt so nice to have some "me" time doing my own nails and having them come out so well for not being done at a salon. So much cheaper too. It's been a week and they are still securely on and don't look that much different than the nails I was paying $60-80 for at nail salons. I wasn't even getting any crazy designs or anything.

Now I've gone down the rabbit hole and have discovered other brands like Glamnetic etc. And now I'm thinking... What's the catch? Why would anyone go to a nail salon if doing your own has gotten so much better at a much more affordable price? Is it for the overall salon experience? More complicated designs that are not yet somehow found in press ons? Every post I see on here the nails look good.

I feel like I have absolutely zero reason to ever go to a nail salon again.

White Gardenia! 🌸

I don’t typically do NR because their short length is honestly too long me, but they’ve been working on their extra short collection, and I just have to say I love them so much! I have a wedding to attend this weekend and these will definitely complete my outfit! 🥰🌸

Nail removal?

How long on average does it take you to remove your press on nails?

I am finding that if I buff my nail bed before applying glue that my nails will last for 10 days easily. The only problem is that even with soaking in warm water with oil, it still takes an absurd amount of time to remove my nails. I have tried being patient but after 45 minutes or so of soaking and trying to lift them, I usually lose patience and have to force them. I have caused damage doing this before. I know, horrible idea. 😞

I know I am doing something wrong, but I am not sure what. If I don't buff my nails, the press ons seem to pop off frequently.

I don't really have a specific brand of nails or glue that I use particularly. Is that where I am messing up?

How many sets do you own in your backstock?

I saw someone comment that the catch to doing press ons vs going to the salon is the compulsion to buy sets upon sets upon sets lol. I personally have like 9 or 10 unopened sets in my backstock but wondering how many others keep around? Mainly I’d just love an excuse to keep buying!

Curvlife vs Olive + June Glue Tabs

For those of us who use glue tabs, do you have a preference on the brand?

I've only ever used Olive + June but recently discovered that Curvlife also makes glue tabs. And now I'm wondering if I'd get an even better hold if I switched brands.

how to make the press-ons last a full day out?

i have a day out in two weeks and i’m really looking forward to wearing the black press-ons set i bought. the thing is, when i tested them a few days ago, the sticky tabs weren’t doing the job properly :c the nails started lifting and moving around by the next morning. they didn’t even last half a day.

i’m really new to this, so i’m thinking maybe it’s because i didn’t blow dry them beforehand? i’ve seen a lot of people do that to make them stick better. I also do the usual nail prep beforehand before doing anything ofc but honestly i find it difficult to stick the tabs on my nails other than the thumbs because they’re always bigger than my nails, and it’s annoying having to cut them into the shape i need every time.

the thing is, i’d like to be able to reuse them again, and i really only need them for one day, not several days or weeks. i just want to avoid the embarrassment of losing a nail outside during the hangout, which is why i want to make sure they stick well. i’m wondering if it’s possible to use nail glue without ruining the nails by the end of the day?

Reusing glamnetic press on nails

They claim that glamnetic press on nails can be reused. Has anybody tried and had success? If yes how do you clean the residual glue from the back of the nails and how long do they last on second usage?
