Quick guide to buying nails on Shein.

...and Temu, et al I reckon.

It's really simple:

  1. REVIEWS are QUEEN: every item in that app has a review section. Read them, and specifically filter for pictures within the review.

  2. No reviews? Scroll down and view the shop, it should have an overall rating. If that rating is 4.7 or higher, they're trustworthy. If the shop doesn't have a rating and there are no reviews...abort mission.

  3. The first pic is NOT what you're getting. This is very important, specifically for those 24 and 30+ piece sets. All of these apps use the work of actual nail techs as their source material. Trifling, I know. Scroll to the 2nd or 3rd pic and beyond to see what you're actually getting from them. Your eyes will become trained to clock a potential mess vs. a must-have that you can enhance.

  4. Search is your friend! Shein has a visual search button that allows you to upload a picture of what you're seeking (not exclusive to nails 🤸🏾‍♀️). I always use this to look for dupes of sets that box retail brands carry. 90% of the time I'll find an exact match. Reminder that every single retail brand of press-on nails is made in China. You're often paying twice or thrice the price for a name, so dupes are a good alternative for those trying to save some money.

  5. Handmade sets are your best bet. Yes, the sizing can be intimidating initially, but once figured out, oh baby you will understand what the rest of us have been vouching for. Buy different sizes to see what might work for you. Shein has free returns, so the trial and error is worth it imo. If you're a baddie, you can size your own nails using their measurement guide. Again, your eyes will become trained to discern what will work for your nailbeds vs. sets that look like they were made for a child. Handmade is the way.

  6. Free shipping on Sundays and Thursdays with a $15 minimum spend if you're not doing a haul and just want a few sets. 💅🏾

Shein experts: feel free to add your tips and tricks in the comments. I am simply sharing information, not advertising or getting anything from doing this at all. I just want the girls to look good and save money.
