Keep my cervix if I already have pelvic floor dysfunction?

I’m almost 30, I have PCOS. No endo or adeno. Just cysts on my ovaries. I had a low risk dysplasia pap smear about five years ago, it was gone six months later, and my annual paps since then have been normal.

Although I have PCOS I’m planning on keeping my ovaries because my health insurance comes and goes, it’s low income state insurance. If i make too much money I lose my insurance. Right now I’m so low income that I get free health insurance. I’m in the US. I know I would need HRT if i remove the ovaries, but it needs to be prescribed by a doctor. I can’t afford out of pocket doctor appointments and pharmacy costs at times when my insurance isn’t active.

I understand it’s recommended to remove the cervix too if you’ve had an abnormal pap. I’m afraid of prolapse and the cuff. I’ve had pelvic floor issues since I was a teenager. Bloating, constipation, feeling like I always have to pee and cant empty my bladder. Can’t have a bowel movement unless I drink a hot coffee. Pelvic pressure always. In the past I was excessively heavy weight lifting and abusing substances that constipated me. I’ve asked my primary care doctor for a referral for a colonoscopy but they denied it.

I’m scared of having a cuff because my husband bonks into my cervix pretty often. I understand it’s rare but the cuff can rip from this even six years post op. I’d prefer a vaginal hysterectomy to avoid the gas pain from a laparoscopy, I don’t know if the cuff would be best for me because I might prolapse or break the cuff.

Also worried about if I need another surgery in the future due to the hysterectomy, like cervix removed or cuff repaired, it might be at a time when I’m not covered by insurance.

I started doing pelvic floor exercises i learned from youtube. I’m hoping to go to a pelvic floor therapist after the surgery.

Just to clarify I’m covered by insurance right now, and my surgery consultation is soon. If my income increases just a little bit I will lose insurance. This probably will happen in January 2027.

Any advice is appreciated so much

Ruined my hair with Sun-In

It’s orange brassy blonde now and I’m wanting to get it to a light natural brown using just box dye because I’m poor. I’ve tried wella toners and they look so good until I wash my hair a few times. Purple toning shampoo doesn’t help. The ends are so dry. In the past my ends felt so much better after dying from blonde to dark brown but I’m wanting it light brown this time. Do I need to color fill with a warm tone semi first, then use an ashy brown? Or should I just use medium golden brown since I know it will fade

I’ve tried to dye it with box dye light ash brown before and didn’t get green tones, but it all faded out after three washes

A dentist told me I had four cavities and then he filled them all. One broke off, so i went back to the office to get it fixed. A different doctor was there that day, it wasn’t the same doctor who did my four fillings. This new doctor said he saw another cavity under an old filling on a premolar. He took another x ray. He said this cavity can’t be filled because it will be too close to the nerve and will cause pain. He said a root canal and crown are necessary. I don’t feel any pain.

My insurance will cover it but it will take up to six weeks to get approved, but in two weeks i’m moving over 10 hours away to start a new seasonal job. I’ve asked the insurance company to expedite the authorization for the root canal. I dont think they will do it because the cavity isn’t on the root yet, it’s not infected. They wont see it as urgent.

Did the first doctor miss this cavity? Should i go to a dental school to get a cheap exam for a second opinion? My new job will not give me insurance, I cant afford the root canal where i live in California, it might be $2,000 for the root canal plus cost of the crown. I might just have to go to Mexico in the future, where it might be about $1,000. I think with proper hygiene the cavity won’t hit the nerve for a few more months at least?

Thanks for reading.

I live in southern California. I have medi-cal IEHP insurance. I had a cavity filled a few weeks ago. The filling broke off so i went back to the dentist. A different doctor was there, it was a different doctor who did my fillings previously. This new doctor looked at my x rays and found a cavity under an old filling on a premolar. He did more x rays of this specific tooth. He said the cavity is too big and too close to the root to fill it, so he needs to do a root canal with a crown. I don’t have any pain in this tooth.

The problem is that I’m moving to northern California for a summer job, it’s a 10 hour drive from where I live now. I was planning on leaving this week for the move. Medi-cal is dropping dental benefits in June. It seems like it’s now or never to get this root canal. I might have to pay out of pocket for this in the future if i can’t get it before June. i’ve been told it might be $2,000 for the root canal plus the cost of the crown.

The dentist told me to call medi cal and ask for the authorization to be expedited. I did that today and a medi cal agent said they dont see the request yet in their system. The dentist sent the request on Saturday, today is Monday. The medi cal agent told me to call back Wednesday to ask for it to be expedited. She said it might take three days for it to be approved expedited. So it might be approval next Monday. And then i would have to call the dentist to schedule the appointment for the root canal. She also said it might not be approved for expedited. She said they will review my x rays and the dentists explanation for the root canal.

I’m worried that it might not be approved expedited because the cavity is not touching the nerve yet, the root isn’t infected yet. If it’s not urgent in medi cal’s standards, it can’t be expedited. It might take between two to six weeks to get approved.

I have to start my job in two weeks up north. I don’t know if i should let my boss know what’s going on with my dentist or if I should just move up there and worry about fixing this tooth in the future. Maybe i’ll just save up and pay out of pocket next year at a dental school. I can’t drive back down here in six weeks to get the root canal because i don’t have the gas money to do 10 hours south and back 10 hours north. I would really like to get this root canal done this week or next week. I don’t know if it’s possible.

Thanks for reading. Anyone have a similar experience with medi cal dental? recommendations?
