Building up a social circle

TLDR: How can I build more of a social circle?

Just looking for some advice on what I can do to build an actual social circle.

I'm 22M and haven't had any formal education since secondary school. Always wanted to go to university mostly for the social side but couldn't afford it.

My life consists of work as of late. I only really have 1 friend left from secondary school and we don't talk often. The rest of my circle are work. My only social circle is people I work with, and then occasionally seeing them outside of work with organised events. They've introduced me to their friends and often talk about meeting mine, and that in itself is a reminder that I don't really have anyone. The people I get along with at work are moving into other roles too so I see them less.

I just want a social circle which is more than just my work, and I don't know where to start. I.e today I had plans with someone from work, they cancelled due to other reasons but now I find myself at home, with no clue what to do.

Summer demand

Not even a question. Just curious how everyone's enjoyed their first day of the nightmare season?

Feel free to post your best... or most nightmarish calls! I'll start it off as a call handler.

3 relay calls from the same person, mental health concerns, refusing to speak to anyone but police. 3 attempts on her life, keeps absconding hospital.

Bloke wanting to commit suicide over a lost ferret - of whom had been found and was in the process of being returned by a nice member of the public - threatening to slit his throat with a knife

50+ 101 calls waiting with 1.5hrs queue, and 7x 9's with a 2mins queue. 6 calls stacked at the same time, finishing jobs at the same time as taking other calls.

Everyone extended by an hour until N/T arrive and clock on. Understaffed and expected to only get busier over the next week.

And that summarises about an hour of an 11 hour shift. Best of luck over the BH weekend ladies and gents.
