'North of North' Reveals Season 2 Guest Stars

Our friends from ELLE Canada broke the news earlier this morning about the guest stars who'll make special appearances in our second season! They also exclusively revealed sneak peek images from our second season. Check out their article in the link to get a glimpse of what to expect. They also posted this first look clip of a scene from the new season featuring Auntie Vicky and Siaja weighing what it means to grow, move forward and stay true to yourself.

Canadian actor and comedian Bruce McCulloch will guest star as Military Mitch, an instructor who is hired to teach first-aid at the Ice Cove Community Centre. McCulloch is best known for his work as a member of the comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall, including starring in the TV series of the same name.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter, director, documentarian and Inuk activist Elisapie is also set to guest star in the sophomore season. Her appearance will coincide with the debut of a new song slated to be featured in the new season. Trust us, it's going to be an amazing song!

Wait, there's more! Here's the full synopsis of what you can expect in Season 2:

>Winter is settling over Ice Cove, and young Inuk mother Siaja is still determined to make life better - for herself and everyone around her. This season she learns that while you can blow up your life on an impulse, building the one you want takes a little more planning and a lot more hustle. Guided by ᐱᓕᒻᒪᒃᓴᕐᓂᖅ Pilimmaksarniq - the Inuktitut concept of mastering skills through observation, practice and effort - Siaja is ready to put in the work. At the community centre, she's pushing her boss, Helen, to trust her with more responsibility. At home, she's trying to learn everything she can about the half-sister she never knew existed. And after her divorce, she's open to the possibility of love - or at the very least, a hot date. Through it all, she's raising her daughter, Bun, alongside her mother, Neevee, and newfound father, Alistair. Siaja has always believed the best is yet to come. This winter, she's determined to prove it.

🗓️ Mark your calendars! Season 2 will premiere in Canada on APTN+ beginning Tuesday, September 1, followed by CBC Gem, CBC TV and APTN TV on Tuesday, September 8. After its world premiere in Canada, it will then launch globally on Netflix in the Fall of 2026.

Hi North of North family!

We're so proud to share that we’ve been nominated for the Cogeco Fund Audience Choice Award at this year's 2026 Canadian Screen Awards (Canada's version of the Emmys and Oscars combined, or UK's BAFTA Awards).

We’re going head-to-head with other phenomenal Canadian TV series, including that other new Canadian show that also made a splash around the world last year: Heated Rivalry. It’s a true clash of Canadian titans and we’re ready for the challenge! Remember last season when our Ice Cove rivals challenged us to a not-so-friendly game of northern baseball? We're bringing the same walrus d*ck baseball energy to this awards race! 💪🍆⚾😉

This award is the "fan choice" of the Canadian Screen Awards and 100% powered by you!

So, we need every single one of you to help us take the top spot. It’s time to show the world that the North of North family has the best fans!

Let’s get those votes in and help get us to the next voting round...and ultimately bring this trophy to Ice Cove! ❄️

HERE'S HOW TO VOTE:

Voting for Round 1 is now officially open and you can vote here: https://audiencechoice.ca/.

Round 1 voting will run until Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

Voting is open to anyone worldwide (you do not need to be Canadian or live in Canada), and you can vote up to 100 votes per day!
