I haven’t actually seen Go-Go Mystery Machine yet, but from everything I’ve heard and seen about it, it weirdly feels like Scooby-Doo drifting into Detective Conan territory.
The anime-inspired style, Japanese setting, mystery-focused format, folklore/yokai angle, gadgets, and overall vibe just make the comparison pop into my head immediately.
Maybe I’m completely off, but I can’t be the only one who thought this.
Finally got my hands on the 2018 Toy’s Works Collection 4.5 (Yontengo) Detective Conan Memories Collection figures. These are such surprisingly sturdy little figures for being around 8cm tall, and I honestly love how expressive they are. One of my favourite details is the recreation of Heiji and Kazuha’s handcuff incident in this lineup.
When I first found out about this series, I thought it was just the standard 6-character blind box set. Then I discovered there were actually retailer-exclusive bonus figures with alternate expressions depending on where you bought the BOX from.
First, I found out about Amuro’s crying face version, then Shinichi’s shy/embarrassed face version, and to my surprise, I later discovered Ran had one too.
It may not sound like a huge thing, but I got really excited knowing there were more figures connected to this set beyond the standard lineup.

I also managed to find the Animate-exclusive Ran Shy Face Ver. through a proxy service, but the AmiAmi-exclusive Shinichi Shy Face Ver. is still eluding me... for now. I’ll track him down eventually 😅

They moved around the entire space, waving to fans in every direction, and even picked up the collaboration merch to show it off alongside the staff announcements. Getting to see them up close made me really happy.”
Just heard about Yuji Ohno’s passing, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how much his music meant to me.
Even outside Lupin the Third, his soundtracks had such a unique style that made every crossover with Detective Conan feel special. The Lupin vs Conan movies wouldn’t have had even half their impact without his music setting the tone.
It really feels like a huge piece of anime history is gone. Rest in peace, Yuji Ohno. Your music will keep living on in these classics forever.

Shogakukan Asia is no longer continuing the main English Detective Conan manga, while Viz Media (Case Closed) is actively releasing the ongoing series up to current chapters.
So between the two English versions, which do you prefer overall?
SEGA’s XrossLink Detective Conan figures featuring Akai and Amuro are scheduled for release around autumn 2026.
The display base looks inspired by the Kudo House gate / Conan Town exhibition-style setup, rather than a specific anime or manga scene.
It doesn’t appear to be a direct episode recreation — instead, it feels like a stylised version of the familiar Kudo residence entrance gate design used in Conan exhibition displays.

XrossLink focuses on paired display immersion, so the environment works as a shared stage rather than a strict canon location.

Looking at these XrossLink figures made me realise their story feels less like two separate deaths and more like one conversation that was never allowed to finish.

Recently added Chihaya Hagiwara and Masumi Sera to my Detective Conan Chokonose shelf and realised the whole display started feeling like it was telling a story.
The top tier feels like the people watching the consequences unfold, while the bottom tier feels like the ones carrying the memories of past cases.
I think I tracked down the exact event these Conan/Ran/Kogoro photos came from 👀
This was the official “Adastria × Detective Conan Special Greeting” event held today (May 9, 2026) at LaLaport Yokohama in Japan.

Teacups have some nice variation (some opaque, some transparent/glittery), while the cakes stay consistent. Overall detail is really solid for the size.
