Best Grok Alternatives?

While my current Grok subscription is still active, I'm already looking for a replacement. In terms of censorship, Grok is still the least censored AI out there. But I’ve realized that won’t last. Just like they censored images and video, the chat is going to get censored too. With the new limits rolling out, it’s better to start looking for alternatives right now.

I tried Gemini and it actually surprised me in a good way. In my opinion it’s weaker than Grok at searching for information, but it’s noticeably better at writing text. The quality of the responses is much higher overall.

Let’s find good alternatives together so we can switch away from Grok in protest against the new limits and increasing censorship.

They added "Skills" and didn’t announce it at all. Again.

I’m honestly tired of xAI never announcing new features. They just quietly drop them and move on. What’s really annoying is that before every major update, Grok starts acting up — super long responses, hitting limits, random restrictions. I’m willing to deal with that if it actually means progress is happening. But is it really that hard to add at least one notification window?

The “release-notes” page hasn’t been updated since April 17! Since then Grok has rolled out several new features with almost zero communication: connectors, “Agent” mode in Imagine, “Skills”… nothing.
