Free-to-read story about dragons!

Hey there! If you're in this subreddit or having it recommended to you, you probably like dragons. Well I do too! I've been writing a story that centers around dragons and dragon-like creatures such as drakes and wyverns. It's about a dragon with a big disadvantage in life thinking she'll die alone who finds out she's a lot more than she ever believed. She gets swept up into a quest to stop the apocalypse, and while things get worse by the day, dragons don't give up easy. It's not a kid's story, there's death and themes of loss and grief.

The entire first book is done, and while I will eventually publish the whole series, right now everything is freely available in the subreddit's discord. You'll likely need to enable all channels (found in the settings when you click on the server banner/name, or the roles and channels drop-down) and then you'll find it in the Writing collection of channels -> Writing and Lore thread -> "Broken Skies". Every chapter can be found in a pinned master list of links, and the first complete book is available in PDF and OpenOffice form. New chapters are posted every few days as I write them. I chat with people as they read chapters, hearing out their thoughts, theories, and ideas. A couple people had some strong input on the direction of the story early on, so if you end up reading and liking it, you may have a chance to influence the story as a whole or have some ideas implemented!

Even if you don't care about any of this, if you've got any artistic or literature inclinations it's still a very positive community, so it's worth joining to share your work and get feedback, ideas, and encouragement.

[PC-Flash][2010-2014] 2D pixel, steampunk build-your-own-tank game

Platforms: PC, Flash.

Genre: Sidescroller, Action, Psuedo-sandbox

Estimated year of release: 2010

Art style: pixel art, with everything being slightly squashed. Short people, short weapons meant to fit in a square grid system.

Notable characters: I have no idea, I don't remember any names characters.

Notable gameplay mechanics: A building system allowing the player to create a custom "tank" from a number of parts in a 2D grid. Tracks at the bottom, with foundation squares as filler to hold power generation of some kind as a sort of heart, and weapons and armor on the top and front.

Other: I played this game as a kid on armorgames.com although it was a flash game so I'm sure it existed on other sites.

It was a level-based game where the levels were semi-open world like Super Mario 2. The world map was seen from an isometric view. Within each level you moved to the right where you would fight other tanks. I use the term tank loosely, as the building system allowed some trulty monstrous creations and everything was a steampunk theme rather than modern technology. I don't remember details of the story, if there was one, or the actual building system as the game had built-in cheats that younger me abused. I also remember that the opening credits that displayed the developer team name was in an isometric style similar to the world map, and themed after the game. I believe that they made other games, and they tailored their opening credit name to each game.

I've made a post like this before some time after Omega released about helping struggling hunters through their first clears or for reliable farming. Now, however, I'm expanding to the game at large; if you're stuck, confused, or struggling, myself or other experienced players can help you through whatever stage of the game you're at, from early High Rank to Arch Tempereds, Gog and Savage Omega.

We can help with everything from fundamental mechanics, to build-crafting, to learning new weapons and the hardest hunts in the game. There's no such thing as a dumb question, and no deficiency in skill that cannot be overcome with practice and technique. This isn't a clan recruitment post, you aren't expected to have some minimum competency. You won't be made fun of for not knowing things, or for being bad, or for struggling. I know the fear of feeling like an idiot. I was there not too long ago.

The Discord, for those of you that use it: https://discord.gg/eCuYEYkW6E

And for anyone that doesn't, you can DM me here on reddit and I'll do my best to answer questions and organize things.

E per quelli pochi Italiani, parlo (per la maggior parte) fluente Italiano!

Strive to be a better hunter each day!
