What’s the one money decision in your 20s you wish you had done differently?

after chatting with someone recently, it struck how most of us have at least one money decision in our 20s we regret (or would definitely do differently).

It could be about SIPs, credit cards, loans, or even just savings habits. what’s yours? curious to see if there are some common patterns we all can learn from.

have you ever regretted taking a loan, even if you could afford the EMI?

someone bought a new car on EMI because it fit his salary. but 6 months later, he wished he had waited coz other life goals came up.

often these loans feel harmless when the EMI looks manageable but many people later regret the decision either because it locked them into a cycle or coz their priorities shifted.

did you ever feel a loan (car, education, home or even a credit card emi) wasn’t worth it in hindsight? If yes, what would you have done differently?

spent 5 years optimizing rewards, only to realize 5% cashback is all we need?

spent last 5 years trying to optimise credit cards spends and rewards n realised this simple thing that simple 5% cashback cards are the best.

Why?

coz sometimes forgot to redeem, sometimes points were devalued and sometimes the rewards were not what I wanted.

now simply want my reward to just reduce my next bill and thats it.

What is your credit card rewards experience so far?

how did you choose your first mutual fund and would you do it differently today?

when most of us started investing, we mostly picked a random fund maybe because a friend suggested it or we saw it online.
looking back now, do you think you chose the right fund at the time? Or would you change your approach completely if you were starting today?

Curious to see how newbie-you vs experienced-you think about this.

If you suddenly got ₹10 lakh today, how would you allocate it?

lets just say you receive a surprise ₹10 lakh windfall income or gain then how would you split it between diff categories - stocks, mutual funds, FDs, gold/silver or that Europe trip you were dreaming of ?

No right or wrong answers - just curious to see how different investors here would approach it
