different version of rocket man?
i found about this walmart ad earlier today where it's elton announcing his eyewear line quietly set to an instrumental version of rocket man. i thought the music in the background was neat, so i began taking apart the SACD mix so i could use those stems to recreate it in proper quality. the thing is, when i was done doing that, i tried to align the piano stem with the advertisement version so i could begin editing and found that it's different (both channels on the album version feature all sorts of filler notes, but the ad version is just the simple melody). then i tried with the slide guitars, and those too are different and, in some cases, featuring entirely new portions. then i noticed that the drums sound completely different and start earlier in the second verse. the synths before the last choruses are also clearly different. this video doesn't have a date, but then i thought that maybe the instrumental could be the the biopic version, but i don't think it is after checking. does anyone have any further information? is this a re-recording, and if so is elton even playing on this?
