Safety advice living alone ?

Hey! I've just moved into my first solo apartment (after living in shared house). As housemates we used to keep each other in the loop about where we were going each day for safety but now I live alone I feel like if something happened to me no one would know.

Does anyone have any safety tips for this? Do you keep a little diary of your outings? Text a parent just filling them in on your plans? I don't ever do anything dangerous as such but in this country you never know!!

DAE get a fuzzy mouth after eating certain vegetables?

After eating certain vegetables like cucumber my mouth often feels fuzzy and dry (like after a strong wine or cup of tea) however I noticed this feeling was intermittent and depended on the vegetable.

I eventually realised that washing my cucumber with soap made it stop happening which made me realise I might be allergic to pesticides.

I found this to be a lot less in the UK than in South Africa where I now live unfortunately, I'm not well informed about pesticides/organic but wondered if anyone else had this issue and knew how to combat it. Thinking of just buying organic where I can or washing my veggies very thoroughly with bicarb or soap (ik ik but washing veggies with soap is a thing in many parts of Africa and if you rinse it properly it's fine).

Has anyone else experienced this?

I also get super itchy painful red hands from touching raw chicken but I can eat it no trouble.

I have tried a menstrual disc and I love the concept however it doesn't seem to fit well in the space?? It feels like my body keeps wanting to try and eject it and like it doesn't sit properly in the space over my cervix. I also felt like it was getting caught on my cervix itself which sticks out quite a lot?? Has anyone else had these issues?

I did manage to get it sitting over my cervix in the end but it still kept trying to come out over my pubic bone.

I've also had issues with menstrual cups where it feels like it doesn't unfold properly. Do I just have weird anatomy 😭??

I'm looking for BC that will stop my period. I've tried one type of combined pill and the evra patch but I still cramp and bleed even if I take it continuously. My doc said this might be because I'm slightly underweight and estrogen is stored in fat?

What helped others who had this issue? Does the strength of the hormones affect it? Is the mini pill different?

The cramping and winding down to a period seems to start the week before the bleed, I guess as my natural estrogen drops?
