I Think Nigerian Wealth Is About to Look Very Different

I feel like Nigeria’s next generation of wealth is going to look very different from what we’ve seen before.

A lot of older wealth came through oil, government contracts, banking, importation, construction and property. But now the opportunities are much broader: tech, media, entertainment, finance, fashion, healthcare, agriculture, e-commerce, real estate and global businesses.

You can literally build something in Nigeria and have customers, clients or investments all over the world.

Some of the Nigerian companies, fortunes and family names we’ll be talking about 30 years from now are probably being built right now.

It’s interesting to think that we’re watching a new era of Nigerian wealth being created in real time.

What Small Habit Made a Surprisingly Big Difference in Your Life?

What’s one small habit that quietly improved your life more than you expected?

Mine is turning off the Wi-Fi at 9 p.m. It helps me unplug and wind down for the night.

Now the heart wey I spend three years mending don break again
How many times person fit patch heart?

The on-and-off thing dey always fascinate me

No.. No Jollof !

Jollof rice is overrated, imo

Any small thing, jollof.

Meet a new foreigner — “Oh, I want to try Nigerian jollof!”
Please, abeg. 😭

There are plenty of Nigerian foods that are way better than that rice.

And the funny thing is, I actually used to like jollof when I was little, before it became this viral, internationally hyped thing.

Don’t even get me started on the Nigerian jollof wars with other countries. I roll my eyes at that discourse every single time. Abeg!

No, I don’t want your jollof.

Matter of fact, no jollof at my wedding. 😂. now what

Yam porridge, fried rice, tuwo, ekuru… I could go on and on. There are so many Nigerian dishes with their own unique taste and character.

Let other Nigerian foods get some attention for once. Jollof has had enough publicity. 😭

Honest remarks

I just got my Preply account activated!. Yay 😀

I’m looking for someone who has been on Preply for a while and would be kind enough to take a look at my profile and give me some honest feedback.

I’d really appreciate an experienced perspective on what looks good, what could be improved, and anything that might help me attract more students.

If you’re willing to help, please comment or DM me. I’d genuinely appreciate it! Thank youuu

Average week

For those who’ve been teaching on Preply for 6+ months, on average, how many students do you teach in a typical week?

I’m trying to get a better idea of what’s normal on the platform and see something.

Help! Where can I apply?

I’m a **Nigerian, non-native English speaker** with 2+ years of ESL teaching experience, a **BSc**, and accredited **TESOL/TEFL certifications**. I also have a clear, neutral English accent and experience teaching both children and adults online.

I’m desperate for work and **ready to grind**. I don’t mind the pay. I just need an opportunity.

Please recommend any online ESL companies currently accepting **non-native teachers**. I’d really appreciate it!

Thank you! 🙏
