Got a replacement card
I received a replacement debit card today since my other one was damaged. However, both the new and old cards appear in my CommBank app. Can anyone please advise how to remove the old card?
Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone,
I’m hoping to get some insight from people who’ve gone through a Common Law claim under WorkCover in Victoria, especially for psychological injury.
Late last year I had an occupational violence incident while working on paediatric ward - a parent became hostile and aggressive, and I ended up with an acute stress response that developed into a longer‑term psychological injury. My WorkCover claim was initially rejected, and I had several months off before returning gradually.
Conciliation has now finished and I’ve received my Outcome Certificate. EML still won’t accept liability, but the conciliation process itself is finalised and full entitlements received.
I’m now looking at whether to pursue a Common Law claim. What I’m seeking from it is:
- recognition of the harm caused by the incident
- pain and suffering compensation
- acknowledgement of the long‑term psychological impact
- closure, because the incident has affected my work and life more than I expected
For anyone who’s been through this:
- How long did your Common Law process take?
- What should I expect in terms of IMEs, timelines, and negotiations?
- Anything you wish you’d known before starting?
Not looking for legal advice - just hoping to hear from people who’ve been through the process and can share their experience.
Thanks in advance.
I finally won my WorkCover conciliation for psychological injury and wanted to share the outcome for anyone going through the same nightmare. It’s been a long, stressful process, but the recommendation came through and it was actually a really solid result.
There initial offer was quite low and insulting, so I counter offered with help from UnionAssist.
Here’s what I got:
- Weekly compensation payments for my entire incapacity period, they offered 12 weeks on first offer
- Reimbursement of all GP, psychology, and medication costs from date of injury in Nov 2025 to now
- 14 more psychology sessions approved to use by 31 July 2027, they originally offered 6 to use by Oct 2026
- 14 more GP sessions approved to use by 31 July 2027, again they offered 6 to use by Oct 2026
- Medication coverage and transport costs til 31 July 2027
No liability acceptance, but full entitlements. Honestly, it’s better than I expected.
The only annoying part now is the wait, I’m just sitting here waiting for the official outcome certificate so I can send everything to payroll/HR for leave recrediting. It’s been over a week already and still nothing.
If you’re in the middle of conciliation: hang in there. It can go your way. And if anyone else has had to wait ages for the outcome certificate, let me know how long yours took.
Got an offer (no admission of liability) from EML today for my WorkCover dispute with my work.
They’ve offered:
• 12 weeks weekly payments (21 Dec 2025 → 15 Mar 2026)
• Reimbursement of GP + psychology costs from 16 April onwards
• 6 more psych sessions + 4 GP visits to use by Oct 2026
My documented incapacity period is much longer than 12 weeks, and I had to use annual + sick leave during that time. I’ve now been certified fit for pre‑injury duties and completed my RTW plan through HR.
I’ve put forward a counter‑offer asking for:
• Weekly payments for the full incapacity period (21 Dec 2025 → 30 Jun 2026)
• Recrediting of annual + sick leave used during that period
• Full reimbursement of GP/psych/medication costs
• Reasonable future medical expenses (psych + GP reviews for 12 months)
I’m still waiting on Union Assist advice.
Has anyone dealt with these “without liability” recommendation offers?
Is counter‑offering like this normal, and has anyone had success negotiating a better settlement?
I wanted to share this because it might help someone else.
Out of nowhere, I got a call from Commonwealth Bank saying I was being refunded money from a scam that happened a few years ago. At first I thought it was 100% a scam - I vaguely remember losing around $1k back then.
But the call was verified in the CommBank app, so I rang 13 2221 to double‑check. The guy on the phone confirmed it was legit and that a formal letter is on the way explaining everything. The refund should take 4 weeks.
Apparently banks are re‑opening old scam cases and refunding people more than they originally lost because they’re including extra transactions, fees, or stuff they missed the first time.
Anyway, if you get a random call like this - don’t trust it blindly, but don’t ignore it either. Verify it properly. Sometimes you actually are getting money back.
