Question About Language and Lighting in Delian Tomb

So in the Delian Tomb adventure, my players have just cleared the second level. In this section, the adventure awards a couple of items that seem... useless? For lack of a better word, in the adventure itself.

 1. The Imp's Tongue - a consumable that allows the user to speak and understand any language (maybe some caveats, the rules are not in front of me) for an hour.

 2. The recipe and ingredients to make Unblinking Candles - candles that don't go out. A hardy light source, basically.

Are there any encounters or anything within the adventure, as written, where these items have an intended use case? I haven't spotted any yet, but I'm unsure if designers provided these for a particular reason

Need help getting my head around Polder's Shadowmeld

We are playing through Delian Tomb and one of my players is using the Polder Elementalist pregen. They have the Polder's Shadowmeld ability, and it has been ignored since being read at the point of it being unlocked because we just do not understand it very well, at least in the context of combat.

Is this supposed to have any use case (at least for this character) in combat or is it pretty much an out of combat ability? Having read it again just now, it sounds like it might be possible to cast The Flesh, A Crucible with main action, shadowmeld with Maneuver, and recast TFaC with persist next turn since it's persist effect specifies it requires no action. Is that correct?

Basically, could anyone explain in simple terms how to use this and why?

Thank you kindly!

Something Clever We Noticed About the Gilded Hand Design [very minor Delian Tomb spoilers]

So we're playing through the Delian Tomb, and my players made some connections about the design of this group that I hadn't noticed, and haven't seen brought up here before.

The Gilded Hand isn't just a cool name for this group. The art work also has them arranged like a hand, with them in height order and positioned like fingers. Boddorff being the thumb. And on top of that, Illwyth is in the position of the ring finger and is in possession of the special ring that unlocks DT level 3!

I hadn't picked up on this at all, but my players clocked it immediately and it blew my mind! Very cute from the artist for this peice indeed!

Edit: I attempted to upload this with the artwork im talking about, but it didn't seem to make it through for some reason

A unique (probably) situation has come up in our Delian Tomb game - looking for advice

Okay so here's the sitch and sorry for the long post. The context is necessary:

The bandit fort - my players went to do some recon, and in a stakeout they spotted brune about to use the raft to cross to the island. They decided to capture him and interrogate (this is after they sniffed him out in town and get some half-truths).

Cut forward a bit, and they have learned about the potential to incite a coup via Thurston and a plan hatches. One of the party is the Talent pregen, who has an ability to effectively transform into another person after performing a 1 hour ritual. They do this to become Brune, and walk through the front door with the rest of the party in tow as new recruits.

They get to Thurston, and he decides to speak to "Brune" alone - his lackeys are sent into the training area and the rest of the party wait outside the door.

"Brune" successfully negotiates to the best outcome - Thurston takes the camp out on a raid, planning to surprise attack those not loyal to him. However, being the very first negotiation we played, and it being under unusual circumstances, it probably didn't go quite right and there wasn't a concrete trade agreed between him and Brune. Just a general agreement that it would be better if Thurston took over.

Anyway - Thurston takes off, the party slay Aldiva and Laesi but in the process the Talent gets knocked out (technically dead, but I ruled unconcious until tended to by the Abott in town). Session ends there.

The real Brune is tied up in the woods waiting for the party to take him to the Reeve. The party are in Aldiva's room with all the loot (considering whether to keep or redistribute it). And there is no clear direction for what Thurston does next.

Here's where i'm hoping you can help me out!

I thought it would be cool if the party come across Thurston and his loyalists on the road just as they finish up their coup. I figure this is a cinematic moment, adds some texture to the travel back home, and provides an opportunity to officially decide an outcome for this faction. However, they would likely have Brune as a prisoner and the "Brune" Thurston previously negotiated with is the unconcious Talent.

I am struggling with how that interaction might play out - How does Thurston react to this? From his perspective, he sees effectively his colleague being taken prisoner by the 3 new recruits he just saw at the fort plus a total stranger on a stretcher. He hasn't been promised the stolen loot, or employment in town, just that he can be the new bandit leader.

I have some thoughts about how it might go, but they all feel tenuous at best and hoping some input from more seasoned directors could help!

Thank you for your time and any advice you can give! <3

Vegan places to eat around Richmond?

My girlfriend and I are staying in Richmond for a weekend to visit Kew Gardens, wondering if anyone has good recommendations for decent vegan food?

Thanks!

Negotiation Motivations&Pitfalls as a tool for PC creation

I was just looking at the Negotiation rules to try and wrap my head round it prior to my next delian tomb session and I had the thought that a player creating their character could use the list of motivations and pitfalls to help them craft their characters personality

I know my players have a hard time with this stuff, and I figure looking at those lists and picking say 4 or 5 total could be a helpful tool for figuring out their personality. It would no doubt develop through play but seems like it could be a good start point. Help grease the role play wheels as it were.

Have any of you or your group tried this?
