Job market’s getting much better for senior devs (anecdotal experience)
I say this as someone who used to get messaged once or twice a week from recruiters in 2021-2022 era to having not a single DM from a recruiter between 2025-2026.
The market was basically DEAD.
However, since July-August, me and my close friends have been getting DMed again from recruiters, but the interesting thing is that it’s at all these overblown valuation VC funded companies. I guess they’re capitalizing on the insane valuations. I know options are basically going to be useless when/if the company stock comes crashing down.
However, I’m just in it for the cashhh baby.
Anyone else seeing this? Mostly in AI/SWE jobs.
Ps, a lot of people had advised me not to join a YC company due to the work, but honestly, it’s not too bad. The founders are dumb as hell but somehow raised $15M+ for a shitty product but decent idea. All this to say, don’t completely disregard YC companies.
