Starting Saturday let’s prove Jimmy wrong

Jimmy has said a few times this offseason that the fans don’t like Watson because he’s not had success.

While he’s right that SOME might ignore him being a serial sex pest if he played well, most of us have not and would not.

For those of us going to the game Saturday, and any game that Watson plays in, let’s make sure to mercilessly boo him every play he’s on the field. INT, BOOOOOO! TD, BOOOOO! (We can cheer when Andre makes the PAT, that guy deserves it!).

Watson said today he doesn’t care about the boos but we’ve all seen and heard otherwise. He’s only going to last a few more games around here. Let’s make them count!

PS- mods, yes, a post about Watson is going to illicit some nasty comments. My apologies in advance. I know this comes off as a shit post but this is 100% serious. If we can use this sub to coordinate an 0-16 parade we can use it to coordinate boo-ing the shit out of Watson for being a serial sex pest.

Can we make a rule to reign in the traffic posts?

A car hitting a building is a running meme at this point. But this sub is over run with posts bitching about traffic and posting videos of erratic driving. Can we make a new rule that traffic posts be limited to car in building or posts about actual traffic accidents / jams that affect our commute?

There can always be a ColumbusTraffic sub for those who really need to get something off their chest.

Is iPad even worth it anymore after price increases?

This is just a general post of first thoughts after today's price increases.

I'm thinking of this from the general personal use side. There will still be niche business uses where iPad still makes sense. But what is the point of iPad anymore? It's best for being able to download shows from streamers for flying. Apps like Netflix do not allow that on Mac. But the iPad is essentially a media consumption device.

The base iPad costs $450 with an outdated chip. AI is not the end all be all. But spending $450 for the most base tablet that can't support Apple Intelligence in 2026 would be a choice.

iPad Air with 128GB is $750. At that point a Neo would be more practical, even though less "powerful". The upgraded Neo is only $50 more at that point.

If you have an iPad Pro, wouldn't your use cases be best used on a MacBook Pro? Sure, I do some photo editing with Photomator on my iPad but I always find it easier on my MacBook.

Add in that the MacBook Pro / Ultra this fall is supposed to get a touchscreen, I just don't get the point of the iPad anymore. Especially at these prices (which I fully understand are due to Rampacalyopse).

What are your guy's thoughts?

Should I subscribe to Photomator

I already have Pixelmator pro (non Apple studio). I was looking at getting Photomator since I can use it across all my devices. I’ve already done the trial and liked it. I was hoping there would be some sort of update at WWDC, but since there wasn’t I didn’t know if it’s worth getting the yearly subscription or the lifetime license. Normally I’d just get the lifetime license and move on, but it would take 4 years of yearly subscriptions to match the lifetime cost. Will Photomator still be around that long? Hard to know. They just killed the AWU in less than 4 years.

Our boy Gus is a tad over 7 years old and the vet mentioned it’s time to switch him to a senior food. He’s generally around 103-106lbs. Medium activity level. He’s had Royal Canin German shepherd kibble (puppy and adult) his entire life. He’s done very well with it. He does have skin (not food!) allergies, that are under control. He had been a little gassy over the last year.

We are expecting our first child so if we wanted to switch to a cheaper food (Hills or Iams) now is the time. The senior versions (large breed and GSD) of Royal Canin are a little more expensive than the adult formula.

I asked our vet what food they’d recommend and they weren’t super helpful. Just listed Royal Canin, Hills, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams, as quality brands they’d recommend for him.

Does anyone have any experience with Hills or Iams senior formulas for their GSDs? Worst case, we just keep him on Royal Canin and do the senior formula. If we stay with Royal Canin, any tips on helping resolve his gas? Sometimes his farts sound like a human fart. Vet didn’t have any real suggestions on that other than switching up foods.

(From browsing previous posts, I’m well aware that there is a segment of people who are very passionate about making their own dog food. We respect that idea, but that is not a route we are going to take. Please refrain from recommending that).
