Hot take 😗

I know everyone loves Olandria, I’m indifferent about her I didn’t watch her season. But one thing I will say is that she’s become this big celebrity…however I don’t think she knows how to maintain this fame and how to carry herself. And I believe she won’t be “famous” or as famous in a couple years.

My reasoning is that, she doesn’t really…do anything. She doesn’t create content, she doesn’t have a brand, she doesn’t have a podcast, she’s not on any other tv shows, she’s not trying to sing, she’s not trying to act, she hasn’t hosted anything. Like she really does nothing and quite frankly she’s boring…I fear she’s the nothing burger.

If you go on her tik tok it’s pretty much nothing but ads and brand deals….thats boring who wants to watch that…then her fans will say she’s shadow banned, baby she’s not shadow banned don’t nobody wanna watch ads all day😭 other than that any time I see her all she’s doing is getting dressed in a fancy outfit to walk some red carpet or get her picture taken. It’s literally just pictures over and over again.

Lol maybe the point is to be more of a celebrity than an influencer but even then the TYPE of celebrity she’s trying to be still makes digestible content like look at Kylie Jenner.

Moral of the story what I’m tryna say is that I think it’s gonna get old unless she switches it up. She should do GRWMs or Vlogs or smth. Cause love island is every year and it’s only getting more and more popular, new “it girls” are going to be coming at lighting speed…idk if she’ll keep up

Ik yall are gonna attack me lol but if you think im wrong lmk

Love Island S9

I say this with kindness but as a Black woman, I do hope that next year we can stop deifying and bigging up these non-Black men for simply liking or finding a Black woman attractive. All but 2 Love Island winners had Black women in the winning couple, at least 4 were dark skinned Black women.
Trinity is young, beautiful, funny and smart as is almost all of the Black women who come on love island (they have to be, by nature of society, WE have to be!) so Bryce (a 30 year old white man "DJ") absolutely should be smitten! He found a catch (one I personally don't think he deserves but that's a conversation for another day). In what world are we praising a man for liking or simply finding a beautiful young woman attractive. Bryce didn't do anything especially chivalrous for Trinity, he literally just liked her. Even Carl is great but Aniya is a gorgeous, successful young woman, he should like her! She's honestly out of his league!

Require more from these men! Know your worth!

TLDR; I hope next year we can stop praising fish for swimming. Nobody should get brownie points for simply liking us and knowing we're the catch we are. Praising these men for "daring to like us" or treat us right gives low racial self esteem to me because WE CLEAR in every category 🤷🏽‍♀️

Olandria Carthen

I’m so excited to see what’s next for our girl. I know she has a cover coming up. Looking like she may be getting her VS wings soon or have a collab coming up with them🤞🏾She also teased C-E-Ola‼️ To the shippers and solos alike, I hope you all can keep it positive. Please leave her ex and edits of them out of her solo communities. It’s not very kind to her mental. To the shippers I hope you all will keep that in {Nicolandrian} spaces. I feel the same for him and his spaces. {Please stop giving him couples gifts at his shows} Respect their want for privacy. The next chapter of Olandria Carthen will be a movie 🥰

Olandria in Tom Ford via IG

Such a beautiful woman. I'm glad that she is back posting. The love for her definitely outweighs the hate.

You Just Don’t Like Aniya

Every year the audience picks an islander, typically a woman (bonus points if she's a DSBW) to hate regardless of any logical basis. Just hate and vibes.

This obnoxious way in which the viewers take any and everything that islander says and does out of context to fit whatever narrative they've created in their mind, is so damaging to the actual islander.
Reminder that these islanders are real people. Not characters. Not sims. Aniya and the majority of this cast are really really young as well.

You don't need to use a different islanders situation to try to prove why you don't like her. It's gotten to the point where that girl could say "Wow it's a nice day" and the audience will be making 50 part TikTok's, threads and tweets about how "Aniya hates rain water because she's anti-environmentalism"

Family meeting

I find myself frustrated. I love Trinity as much as the next. However, this is not the first time that our good niece has not only interjected but also escalated a situation that had nothing to do with her. Once again a chance for Aniya and KC to come to some sort or resolve (which is necessary as they are living together) was interrupted by the peanut gallery. It’s wholly unfair to Aniya and KC feelings and experience. There is a difference between being there for your friend and not allowing them stand on their own two feet. When Aniya was crying that’s where Trin and co should’ve stepped in to comfort her. But let her handle her “relationship/breakup” on her own. I can’t stand this group of boys this year but the one thing they clocked our girls on is this pack mentality. It’s even more frustrating to me because the entire season no one on that villa has really prioritized Aniya’s feelings. Even when she was playing therapist for theirs. So for moments that are hers, to constantly be interrupted by Trin and Kayda feels unfair.

This is NOT a defense of Pepe or Bell-A. Pepe is a liar, though completely undeserving of this whole pile on. Iris dragged it because she was being messy and telling Tj all the things Pepe told her when they were together. Leaving out her part. She blew all of this out of proportion because she wants to appear squeaky clean. Bell-A is just doing what production told her to, but her calling people cowards for not interacting with people who don’t like them was annoying at best.

That being said, we can hold multiple truths.

It’s one thing to have different friend groups that don’t really interact though they may overlap. I know I do. Best friends, work friends, going out friends, trip friends, etc. It’s another to have friend groups that know and completely dislike/hate each other.

What do you mean you’re friends with Bryan and 🥭? Ace and Nic? At one point 🥭 was friends with Huda and Jerry, Huda and Olandria and Chelley? I’m sorry but where do their loyalties lie?

🥭 said she’s only not friends with Huda because she didn’t reach out when she was hospitalized. Ok. But when she was laughing at a slur being hurled at your other friend Olandria, yall were still cool? But bell-a can’t associate with Bryan whatsoever. I’m not understanding her metric.

Jerry said he’s not friends with Pepe because he’s a liar but he also said it’s because of how he “treated” Iris. So I assume it’s both but his track record does make people think it’s more the latter than the former.

Irl most people don’t keep “friends” like them or keep them at an arms length. More often than not if mess pops up, those kinds of friends are right in the middle of it.

Its really no hate to any of these people but I completely understand the public sentiment of them being wishy washy fair weather type of friends. Followers even in Jerry case

There are always influencer, actor, model etc wannabes on Love Island. Every season. Every version. Bergie and Austin Lauren and Cameron types are a rarity.

Conventionally attractive 20 somethings do NOT need to go on reality tv to find love or get laid. Not on Flavor Of love, Love is Blind, Temptation Island, The Bachelor. None of them. They do it for some level of fame/exposure. ALL OF THEM.

Take off the rose colored glasses cause this includes season 6. Kordell wanted to be an actor. Serena worked in media. Leah is from a very wealthy family already this show just gave her exposure(and love).

The truly non career minded types are typically boring. The ones using this for a spring board make for better tv. Sorry but true.

The fan favorite cast mates are those who actually look for love and allow themselves to fully delve into the show despite whatever career hopes they have. Olandria, PPG, Iris, etc. We also love them more when they are honest about it🙃

The best moment on S6 when Serena walked a million miles while expressing her genuine feelings. Jana crying over (redacted). PPG friendship. S7 best moments Olandria voice cracking saying she really wanted to find love. Iris crying when Tj was sent home. All the girls and guys crying over Olandria and Nic “elimination”because they were actually friends with those people.

Those are the moments that we love. This production company for S7 cared more for drama and saving people that created it, than those stories.

Note: Even in those moments they still have aspirations to be influencers, models, actors, musicians etc.

The first real problem with S7 was the lack of psych evaluations and/or the casting of certain islanders DESPITE not meeting those standards for “drama”. The SOB challenge had no business even taking place, let alone being edited in that way.

The second was Ace, he admitted to playing producer pet. Instead of focusing on Chelley and letting us watch them build something, he tried to create a 3-way storyline with a girl(Amaya) that he didn’t even like. He encouraged Taylor to lie to Olandria(which should have been exposed in a movie night) He kept interfering in other islanders relationships. It ruined so much of the show.

The third reason was the audience. The racism and misogyny of the love island audience is nothing new, sadly. The sheer amount of unregulated children voting though, is new. The number of watchers and publications watching is new.(Buzzfeed bitch ass I’m talking to you)

Also being an influencer is not an inherently bad thing. There’s different types of influencers, makeup, fashion, lifestyle, gaming, art etc. It’s basically marketing. I find it funny(sexist as hell) that one of the most lucrative female lead careers in modern history is reduced to being pure frivolity.

Just be honest. “Influencers” as a whole didn’t ruin the show, productions bad choices in casting and production did. The viewers did. The end.
