Placed my order with a local BMW dealer here in Florida during the first week of August. The dealer said I should be receiving a Stripe link directly from BMW to pay a $1,000 deposit, but so far I haven't gotten anything.

I did receive an order verification email shortly after placing the order and successfully verified it. On the order sheet, the code displayed is 047.

It's been a couple weeks now with no deposit link, so I'm not sure if I'm just waiting my turn or if something's off on my end. A few questions for anyone further along in the process:

1. When should I expect to get a production number?
2. Is BMW still collecting deposits directly via Stripe, or has that process changed?
3. For those with similar order dates, what has your process been like so far?

Would appreciate any insight from people who've been through this. Thanks in advance!

After the recent real-world range test results came out showing less-than-ideal range (especially the delta to the EPA estimate), I started seriously considering the BMW iX3 and Volvo EX60 as alternatives. Both offer more range or faster charging on paper.

I'm fine with how the iX3 looks, but the R2 is still my favorite in terms of styling and comfort, hands down. I test drove the R2 for the second time today, this time with more freeway miles, and honestly it made me love it even more.

That said, I'm coming from an ICE hybrid, so range anxiety is very real for me, and I keep finding myself circling back to the other two options because of it.

One thing that keeps pulling me back to the R2 though: the 10-80% charging speed is way better than what I've seen from Tesla, which counts for a lot when range is already tight.

Has anyone else been cross-shopping and ended up going a different direction? Curious how people are weighing range/charging numbers against how much they actually like driving the R2.
