You can be whoever you want to be, with the right wardrobe.

You want to be cool-girl chic?
Or classically cute?
How about just be a baddie?

I romanticize dressing up for the day, and it pays off each time. I feel good in each of these looks! They’re all so me.

Repurposed a Little Black Dress to make it grown

Adding my personal style to simple and affordable pieces is one of my favorite pastimes. This is a $45 dress from Amazon that I added my own personal flair to make it more age-appropriate (40+) for me.

This ENTIRE look came from Amazon - (even the Jessica Simpson heels).

If I worked in an office, I’d add pantyhose or tights. But, this is my elevated casual going out to eat look.

Another cute hairstyle for under $30!

After pics of this half-wig I bought hours before an event.
As soon as I made it half up/half down, I saw Mrs. Vanessa Bell-Calloway in my mind (iykyk). So, on my way to the event, I stopped at the hair store and bought a gold cuff for $4 to add. It pops perfectly!

I love it and the look was such a hit at the Boosie and Webbie trill orchestra show!

Hate that I didn't get any good before pics, but you get the idea. The after selfies are after the concert, so my frizzy hair reflects the...42 years old age-appropriate fun I had 😅

I had to stop this beautiful whimsical woman!

This is my type of carrying on! Her lace gloves, the lace parasol, the polka dots, the pinned up hair! 😍😍 That’s me in the denim.

My new favorite $27 hairstyle

I woke up with my hair looking like Florida Evans. I had a bday dinner to attend right after work. This was a lunch-time hairstyle I put together.

Put some cornrows in the front, and got this half-wig from the hair store on my lunch break. I used my crochet hook to pull some of the curls through my braids to hide the wig line. Used gel to hold the curl definition, cut to frame my face, and viola! I’m soooo happy how it turned out.

Don’t sleep on the BSS half wigs. They still exist, and they’re still 2010 prices.

Been having wash and go success using the following three products

Salon Line ‘Leave-In Combing Crème’, Salon Line ‘Top Coat Leave-In Primer’, and Doux ‘Big Poppa’ in that order. I haven’t had any white flakes and my curls and coils are extremely shiny and defined with a soft hold.

My hair wasn’t reverting the same after my silk presses, so I chopped it all off in 2024 right after my 40th bday, and have been mostly heat-free with the exception of a blow dry and trim every two months. My last blow dry and trim in the salon pic was on 3/2, so my hair is around that length when stretched. I don’t care about shrinkage, so I’ve been using Doux “Big Poppa” for definition and have been rocking my hair like this all week. That gel hasn’t left a white cast and my hair is soft and fluffy, not crunchy at all.
