If your state and rental have the same requirements as another state can you switch driving areas temporarily?
I did it with my person car, and my Lyft rental I could drive several states. But uber does require you to change locations in the app.
So, can we change locations with a hertz rental?
I’ve went cross country and switched my account as I entered new areas. I’ve done West Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and Arizona.
I’m based in Ohio. There are about 12 states where the requirements are different. But if the requirements are the same as the state you drive it can make for quite the adventure.

I posted early today, and got a whole lot of accusations that it was fake and I took the post down.
I’ve almost a 13 year veteran to driving Lyft and uber. I was always worried about someone puking, or the mentally insane I’d pick up from the mental health places.
While being shot did cross my mind at times you never would think it’d happen to you.
Well, god the universe, Jesus or whoever was on my side the other morning. My car took at least 14 shots, all hitting my car. While none hit me, the passenger wasn’t is as fortunate.
He was a target, facts.
I’m not sure I will ever be able to drive again. It’s hard for me to even walk out my door in the dark right now. I couldn’t imagine pulling up and having someone get in my car now with rideshare. I’d probably have a panic attack.
I’m going to try and drive again maybe next week. But there are certain areas I know my nervous system won’t let me pick up on until I get some treatment for the trauma. A bullet missed my head by inches. It hit my headrest, as well as others that blew and shattered my windows. How the fuck I wasn’t hit is beyond me.
I’m posting this not for fucking Karma points, but to remain anonymous while I process and work through this and warn other driver this shit DOES happen.
Lyft and uber don’t give two fucks about us. Listen to your got given intuition and fuck Lyfts pop up warnings when you are canceling too many trips. Or accepting a trip then canceling. They try and fear us into acceptance. And that’s BULLSHIT.
Shit was frightening as hell and I’m thankful to be alive. Because I was inches away from having my brains blown out all over my dashboard.
