Day 1: First ever Hobonichi spread!

Day 1: First ever Hobonichi spread!

How do you think I did? I’m not the most artsy person, hands were shaking going into this I tell ya 🤣 but I enjoyed it a lot. Sure challenged me to think more succinctly and deeply

Hobonichi Noob

First time using the hobonichi and decided to experiment with the avec. Feeling a bit overwhelmed how to use this creatively but we’re off to a good start!

[WTB] Iroshizuku Ina Ho and Tsukushi

Hi all,

Someone recently posted about a seller on Germany selling Tsukushi and Ina Ho. If you were able to secure bottles, I’m wondering if you’d be able to sell me one of each?

Maximalist Journaling

I’ve been a journaler all my life and recently discovered travelers notebooks. As someone with raging ADHD undiagnosed and unmedicated, you can imagine I stacked up quite a few of those journals.

Now journaling brings me a lot of joy, creativity and mental clarity. It’s the one hobby I’ve consistently stuck to for many years, though evolving in frequency and format.

The problem is not that I don’t know how to use those journals - the opposite, in fact. I have TOO many uses for them which means a lot of notebooks.

I feel guilty though about the maximalism and it’s making me anxious thinking about how I will store them all years down the line. I don’t plan on quitting this hobby, it helps categorize the chaos in my head into neat little boxes.

Any advice?

ACEO Noob: questions

Hi all,

I just came across aceos and want to try my hand at it. I have a few questions that I was not able to find answers to, so please help me out. I want to make sure this remains an ethical process especially because people will be putting their money into buying it:

  1. How do I actually MAKE the art? Should it be on cardstock paper and then scanned/printed multiple batches? Or is it a one time painting with no other copies?

  2. If it’s option A above, then can I draw on any kind of paper or make digital art and then print on stock paper?

Thank you and good luck to all!

The Perfect Pen [for me]

I had been on the hunt for a red marble fountain pen, a Jonathan Brooks resin and a Leonardo — and this Pen Chalet x Leonardo Exclusive checked all the boxes IN A SINGLE DESIGN, and then some!

This is the Bram Stoker inspired Dracula After Dark edition, and the first Leonardo (I’ve received — I do have the Coricella on the way) and think this is one of my grail purchases.

I initially was eyeing the Pelikan for a red marble but I didn’t love the size or weight of the pen. But this one is just perfect for me. I love the details, the Dracula theme, the fact that this is truly a limited edition (25 pieces only!) and the intricate band design.

I don’t think I’ve been this excited by a pen in a long long time!

Just made my first leather journal!

I’ve been wanting to do this for ages and I finally made one! I own a lot of paper republic journals but I wanted to see what I was capable of. I did burnish the edges after this photo and I’m happy with how it turned out.

I will say though that cutting the leather was a task! It’s hard and was a full core workout 🤣 getting it straight with neat edges is no joke, and it didn’t help that my Temu tool weren’t the sharpest lol.

It’s also very technical to make sure your thread loops are aligned…so many details. I have mad respect now for leather crafters — it ain’t easy!

I added a little scratched signature. Let me know what you guys think

The Hunt for the Viper 🐍 KO

So technically, this isn’t a new pen because I bought this 4 months or so ago. But I used it for the first time today and I’ve fallen even more in love. I don’t even mind that it doesn’t post — it’s so well designed that the grip doesn’t feel awkward in the hands at all.

I ordered this pen on Cult and they had to cancel because it was out of stock. Hunted for this pen everywhere and guess where I finally found it? A tiny little mum and pup shop in Virginia Beach — Pen Lovers Paradise! It was meant to be.

This is quite a meaningful pen for me because it represents the year I got into fountain pens - 2025 - the year of the snake. And that year was also where I felt I shed a lot of my past and entered into a new personal era!

And I forgot to add, I recently found a local pen club here and took this pen to the meeting. The first time it ever wrote was when the club members dip-tested it and to me, it makes this pen even more special — like a product of love almost haha 🥰

Inked with Ferris Wheel Press (first ink from them!) The Sorting Hat and it is the PERFECT match (brown with green undertones the exact same color of the viper on the pen!)

Juicy buttery Benu goodness 🖋️

| EDIT | No idea why KO is randomly added to the title - damn this glitchy iPhone 13 🤣

May Pen of the Month

Yes I match my nails to my pen of the month 🤣💅🖋️
Anyway, absolutely loving my first Estie I ever got (surprising choice, since I always thought it will be the tortoise or Seaglass)

Also, hot take but I prefer the regular Esterbrook nibs over their custom grinds. The regular ones write so smooth but I’ve had issues with three of their custom grinds

Downsizingl my collection and selling my brand new Esterbrook Estie in Honeycomb - Gold Trim (Button Piston filler).

Conditions: A2

It comes with the coveted (gold) journaler nib, inked once, and all original packaging available.

The cushion cap came slightly sticky but doesn’t affect the overall writing at all.

Bought for $250 selling it at $230 - based in Dubai but can discuss shipping internationally
