Can go home because there is nothing to do can I still claim the hour OT

Im going for an interview at RM as a postie in a few days.
Would the manager be ok with me not being able to start till mid September?

What’s a better job that pays a wage that’s liveable, currently working full time at RM and have a second job but hate my life. Don’t live in a city so there isn’t many options. Cheers
