I’m scared

Hi so incoming freshman, pasukan na sa Aug 3 and I’m super anxious. I did not pass any of my dream schools sana, Ateneo and UP. Benilde/UST had already closed their applications which led me to enroll here in Mapua.

My problem is I’m a very anxious person, struggling with depression and GAD. I get frustrated on matters very easily and it leads me to doing, thinking, and saying stuff I would come to regret later on. I didn’t take a mental health break as I felt pressured by peers and family who also didn’t really believe in this sort of stuff.

I know that Mapua has a very rigid curriculum, and I’m terrified that my mental health gets worse over the years. Just this week, I went there to handle paperwork and already broke down after forgetting something. I’m just not in the best mental shape right now but I don’t want to waste this opportunity and my family’s money. My chosen prog is aligned with my interests but I’m still scared of myself. I don’t want to drop out, I’m not sure if kaya ko tiisin but I hope I can.

From mapua makati to one ayala(and vice versa)

Hi! Need help, papasa lang ng requirements sa school. Usually, pag pupunta ako sa mapua bababa ako sa Buendia Station, sakay ng jeep papunta Chino Roces, and then take another jeep papunta Shopwise and then lakarin ko na from there. Pauwi naman I just used a jeepney to go to Guadalupe Station or Magallanes.

I would like to know if there is a route I can take papunta and pauwi Ayala Station. Mostly kasi may gusto rin ako icheck out sa mall, but I also want to know if there are easier alternatives. Thank you!

Best way to commute with phone/wallet?

My friend had just gotten his phone stolen/lost today, nilagay niya sa bulsa niya. And about 2 years ago, I’ve had another friend lose her phone stored in her shoulder bag. A year before that, I’ve had another friend lose her tablet which she was holding.

I personally haven’t had any valuables lost or stolen, pero since I’m starting college sa city na malayo sakin, I have to take the MRT everyday and ride multiple jeepneys. I want to be safe and prevent this from happening to me. I’m also somewhat paranoid kung saan location ko so I sometimes have to stop by and check google maps to be sure na tama dinadaanan ko.

Some friends tell me hawakan ko lang phone ko, para di ko malimutan and aware kung san ko nilagay.
Pero sabi naman sakin ng parents ko itago ko sa bag, kasi baka maholdap ako or mahablotan.
If I put it in my pocket, I’m worried na dahil sa siksikan sa commute malaglag siya.

Any suggestions I could use?

Did I make the right choice?

Family ko rin, they know me as a very “passionate artist” na halos parang naging trabaho ko na to ngayong bakasyon. If mahirap or mahal ung course, I think I can handle it naman, atleast that’s what I think. I’m always willing to learn when it comes to this.

Ayun nga lang bigla ako nagduda. ABM kinuha ko so what if nag marketing nalang ako? And as suggested by my family, dapat daw nag architecture ako kasi mas “magkakapera”. Everytime may nagtatanong sakin ano course ko, bigla ako nahiya. Inaway pa ako ng lola ko(sila nagpapaaral sakin) na I should really think about it daw, mas maganda mag archi ako, although matigas ulo ko so nag mma parin.

To be honest I backed away from architecture kasi bobong bobo ako sa math, and while I’ve read many threads na nagsasabing more on arts sya kesa math, I still don’t trust what I’ve read kasi as in, may learning disability ako, and I’m not very passionate in maths. I also feel like theres something missing in architecture. But at the same time, something in me is telling me I’m fucking myself over by not choosing something practical..

I actually lied my entire life telling people I wanted to be a lawyer, psychologist, doctor, etc. when deep down I wanted to be an artist kaso nakakahiya sabihin. Pati tatay ko mas gusto magchef nalang ako!

Pati art teacher ko nung grade 12 sinabihan ako I should consider architecture..So far the older people in my life, even my family are suggesting I stay away from arts as much as possible(pero di naman ako pinipigil kasi pinaglabanan ko talaga). The only ones who supported me in choosing this were my friends.

Un lang, iniisip ko what if wala lang ako mararating dito kasi ang hirap daw maging artist🥹Everytime na memention “practicality over passion” bigla ako napapaisip “anong pinaggagawa ko sa buhay ko?”

(Sorry kung parang conyo nainis din ako)
