Birth control & pumping

(Wasn’t sure which flair to use for this!) I’m 15 weeks postpartum and thinking of starting the progestin-only birth control pill. I know they say it’s a good option for breastfeeding/pumping because it typically doesn’t impact milk supply, but just wanted to hear from any others who went this route! Did you notice any issues or decrease in supply?

I’m curious to hear how/if others have dealt with this. My husband and I just had our first baby in February. She is the second grandchild on both sides of our family. She’s definitely more high needs than our nieces (both are approaching 2 years old) and can get pretty fussy. It’s not always as go with the flow to bring her places as it is with the other two. It’s starting to get better, we think, but it’s been tough at times.

What doesn’t help is the comparisons.

“(Insert niece name)was never colicky.”

“Well XYZ worked for (insert niece name)”

“(Insert niece name) never did XYZ”

I’m so over it — they’re different babies!!! Enough with the unhelpful comments and comparisons that just make us feel worse! I know they’re probably just trying to relate and speak from their experience but it’s frustrating. I’m worried it’s foreshadowing to other comparisons down the line with her hitting milestones and such. How could we politely address it and get everyone to stop? Also I’m aware that I’m hormonal at 12 weeks PP so maybe it’s a bigger deal in my head than it really is.
