I had to go to an urgent care to try to get a referral to an ENT for a flare I'm having. The doctor that saw me told me I could take my mask off (no?), was noticeably congested, and seemed really surprised when I asked him to put the N95 he had around his neck on ("you want ME to put my mask ON?").
How are we here in 2026? I will never not be baffled by this kind of behavior by medical professionals
A while ago someone posted a pretty intense mental load quiz. It's set up so that each person can take the quiz and kind of guess how much they take on and what their partner worries about or doesn't worry about. For the last few years we've celebrated our moms on Saturday. Not this year - my husband and brother decided to treat all of us, including my MIL, on Sunday. Despite knowing how I feel about doing something for our moms the day before he agrees.
So now my Mother's Day is going to suck, as it has every year since I've become a mother, and my narcissistic MIL gets to center herself.
Edit: I'm not even kidding we will not do another Mother's Day with them again so I hope she gets her fill. From now on we will be out of town or unavailable.

I had no idea that meal planning and prep - something I used to enjoy (I LOVED feeding people) has turned into my hell and I can't escape it. I hate it. I can't stand it. It's boring. It's labor intensive. Everyone in my family hates the food I make and my spouse won't cook/isn't around to do it. So I eat like crap because I have a giant picky eater and two little picky eaters who throw new food onto the floor or refuse to eat it (3 and 1 yr old). And here we are again, trying to plan for another week of meals that are going to be total busts because no one will eat anything (oh that meal they ate last week? They'll never eat it again).
