I lost pretty badly in the scenario Elemental Cores in Frosthaven and I genuinely don't know how I should approach this mission. Can you help me with a good strategy?

I play 2 characters: Drifter and Boneshaper. Both are level 6. My first try was opening 2 doors at the same time, let the monsters come to the middle to get slapped up and after the massacre, we run to the cores. The fight went good, no loss cards due to damage negating, nothing bad. Still didn't have enough stamina, I still needed 2 cores, so basically only half of the scenario was completed. My next idea is trying to solo a room with each character at the same time. Drifter is a beast, so I can see him do this, but Boneshaper? 😱 Every room has 3 monsters in it, I don't think it's doable for her, but maaaybe. So what do you think? 👀 Any help is appreciated.

My digital Frosthaven experience so far (~10 scenarios in). No spoilers.

I just wanna say I've played the board game version, but didn't finished it canonically, mostly because of the outpost phase and all the things regarding the town. I dunno why, but it was just too much for us, so we house ruled things and ignored that part of the game. And while I don't regret anything, we still had huge fun, since at the end of the day, the game is still about doing scenarios with various characters and overcome the challenges with teamwork, I'm very happy this digital version exists, so I can experience the original game, so to say. I play with 2 characters: Boneshaper and Drifter. And it's huge fun, ngl. Digitally manage the town is amazing, I love the town phase, it's a fun mini-game. I play the game on veteran difficulty, which is the normal +0 one and not gonna lie, that's enough for me. I know playing solo should be at +1 difficulty, but I personally don't think knowing each other's initiative is as much of a help as +1 difficulty brings extra HP and power to the monsters. Maybe it's just me, but I find this veteran difficulty perfect.

So yeah, that all. In short: the game is super amazing and while the board game was too much for me, this digital version is PEAK. 😁👌

Question about 3 swords locked class.

Hi! 👋

I've finished Gloomhaven 2.0, and actually not only finished it, like the story, but have played almost all the other scenarios as well, the ones that were locked during the campaign. And it's true a few scenarios are missing, like 3-4, but I've never seen anything, that would unlock this class, so I thought I ask here how can you legally unlock it, because I'm curious. Illegally I unlocked it already and I've played Frosthaven's first scenario with it, haha. But I'm wondering what did I miss during the playthrough.

Oh, and since you're here reading this, tell me how you feel about the class as well, I liked it, a very interesting and unique summoning class, IMO.

Most of you think no reminder needed, it's common sense, everyone knows this who have read the manga, etc. But nah, there are people outside, among us, walking free on the streets, who genuinely believe Itachi was going all out and bloodlustedly tried to murder Asuma, Kurenai and Kakashi. So I just have to make this post, even tho it's common sense for 99,99% of people.

I'm gonna try to go in chronological order.

First: Itachi could have genjutsu diffed immediately Asuma and/or Kurenai the moment he showed his shiny Sharingan eyeballs under the cap. But he didn't.

Second: after Itachi reversed Kurenai's genjutsu, he patiently waited for Kurenai to break free instead of immediately murdering her while she's in confusion. After Kurenai broke free, Itachi easily could have shown her his genjutsu powers and give her the Orochimaru treatment. But he didn't.

Third: after Kurenai broke out of the genjutsu Itachi was so kind, he held back his MKCM1 Naruto level body flicker speed, which is able to perception blitz Killer Bee and reduced his speed to Jonin level, so Kurenai can react to him. And then he reduced his combat speed as well, so Kurenai can react to his slice attack with a kunai. Perfect Sage Kabuto couldn't avoid Itachi's slash with a sword, so it's crazy to think Kurenai could. (And no, Kabuto didn't dodged successfully, Itachi was aiming for the horn in the first place, because he needed that contact to set up the genjutsu. So yes, Kabuto reacted and dodged, but Itachi still hit his target.)

Fourth: after Itachi kicks Kurenai on the water, he's kind enough to just stand behind her and look at her, instead of... you know... killing her, like a bloodlusted Itachi would.

Fifth: after some trickery and a small encounter with Kakashi, he tricks them with a clone as we know and Itachi kindly waits until Kurenai and Kakashi are in a safe distance and only makes the clone explode after that. How nice of him. 🥹

Sixth: after the Tsukuyoumi hits Kakashi, Kakashi is absolutely messed up and can barely stand, he even collapses seconds after that. Asuma and Kurenai are there, but with their eyes closed, and Itachi doesn't do anything, which Kakashi even notes. Itachi is able to throw 3 kunais accurately, yet he didn't murder all of them. How nice of him. 🥹

So that's all. Pretty clearly shown us how much Itachi was holding back, which is also noted by Kakashi, btw., but of course statements means nothing for some people, hm. Sometimes agenda > canon for some people.

Of course Itachi later orders Kisame to murder Asuma and Kurenai and this confuses some people. If you continued to read the manga and learned everything about Itachi, then you should know why he ordered Kisame to do that after dragging out the fight for so long and tried to avoid killing anyone. This really shouldn't be that confusing.

But anyway, thanks for listening to my TED talk, drop a lovey comment if you learned something new today and have a nice day!
