89 2500C AC question

This truck was my dads. He was a mechanic, but very sick the last few years of his life, so some items got by him. The AC in this truck used to work, but it doesn't now. I'd like to fix this, but I wanted to make sure that I don't need to do anything special to it before attempting to just add refrigerant. Would mixing refrigerants cause issues (if there was any left in the system)? The air does blow, it just blows hot no matter what setting. I am not a mechanic.

I have floss stuck in my tooth

Two days ago I noticed that floss was getting stuck between my two molars more now, but forgot about it until I flossed yesterday and got the floss stuck super hard in what seems to be *in* my tooth. The tooth behind that seems to be losing the filling as well. I have a regularly scheduled appointment for June 2, will it be a (greater) issue if I can't get in sooner than that? The filling was not raised up like that prior to the stuck floss. TIA.

ETA: 38, these fillings are at least 10 years old, the second tooth on the opposite side of my mouth broke in half around then, so I always check this one, the last molar on the other side is a crown. Relevant diagnoses: i do have t2d, well controlled. Take mounjaro, metformin xr, wellbutrin, atomoxetine, celebrex, gabapentin (pinched nerves), flexeril, lisinopril (protective, not for active issues), Atorvastatin (triglycerides), d3, b12, and E.

1989 GMC Sierra sle C2500

I just inherited my dad's 89 c2500 with 182k mi and drove it 2.5 hours home. It hasn't been driven much in the last 5 years, but was told it had been to the dealership "recently" and had work done. On what, I don't know, but it's nearly as old as I am and I want this truck to last a good long while. I'm planning to semi restore/semi update (I know, purists, I know.)

I'm wondering where do I start. It's a mess. The grille is busted and the left turn signal dry rotted off, headliner is gone, the radio doesn't work, the ac needs charged (at the very least), there are 3 rusty areas that I need to mitigate and bondo and paint(for the first time ever) and the oil temp gauge was on the high side on my drive. I read the gauges aren't particularly accurate and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. See pic, the engine isn't even on yet and it's high.

I plan on doing as much work as I can myself, I'm handy but not a mechanic like my dad was. Is that realistic? I won't be able to let it go any time soon, so I'm hoping it's within my capabilities. I don't want to screw up the last gift my dad gave me.
