Healthy methods to deal with limerence?

Hi, so I (28f) have recently learned there is a term for something I have experienced with having intense and obsessive crushes on ppl who probably want nothing to do with me. It’s called limerence. I also am diagnosed with ADHD and apparently we are more susceptible to experiencing limerence.

I have experienced it badly 3 times in my life. Once in high school with a guy in my friend group. Once last year with a guy whom i shared one amazing night with and its now happening again with a guy i recently hooked up with who hasnt texted or called since.

Honestly i think its when the other person doesnt show much interest in me when I thought we had a good time together and i assumed they would want to see me again. It’s like my ego just cant take the rejection. I start to obsess and think about them all the time. I want to keep reaching out even tho they never text me first. I fantasize about randomly running into them in public and what i would say to them. It takes up too much space in my brain.

For others who have struggled with limerence, what are some healthy coping mechanisms?

In the past i was only able to move on from these feelings when i met someone else who actually was interested in dating me. But I don’t want to date someone now just to forget about the other guy. I want to cope with it on my own.
