Best brands/scents for me?

Hi!

New here!

I bought some lavender incense from Amazon the other day to try and create a bed time routine. I'm on the fence, but I think largely due to the fact I always forget I don't like lavender 😂

So I'm looking for recommendations for calming/relaxing type scents for me to use for a wind down/chill after work routine to try and finally regulate my nervous system at 35 lol.

I usually really like vanilla, cashmere, cinnamon, and citrus type scents when I burn candles.

Want 100% natural so I'm not breathing in stuff but also because of my dog.

*EDIT for clarification:

I want "natural" as in herbs and not synthetic. I understand chemicals are chemicals. I just don't like synthetic smells usually.

I am burning with my sliding glass door open and the dog is able to go outside and get elsewhere. I'm a vet tech so I understand. It's why I've never been a big essential oil person. So looking for safest options for us both.

And I don't plan on burning and going to bed. Plan is to burn it while I'm working on puzzles or cross stitch and help wind down.

Does this sound like a kidney stone?

I woke up at 2AM with UTI symptoms (urgency, burning but not really peeing) then I started feeling pain on my left side. No matter what I took (Tylenol and a muscle relaxer) it was just getting worse and worse. At first I thought I just had to poop or was constipated as it was similar. Then I thought maybe it was a kidney infection... Then the pain kicked up a notch. I felt like I was in labor. I was on the floor rolling around wondering how I was gonna get myself to the ER and then I basically felt a type of "pop" above my pelvis and it all just stopped and I was able to fall asleep...

Do I still need to go to the doctor for imaging if it's in my bladder? Is there anything else they will do? I got Azo pain meds and cranberry juice and am trying to drink more fluids between my naps on a heating pad...

Doctor Recommendations

Wondering if anyone has a good doctor recommendation?

I'm currently going to the family medicine residency center... The resident is nice and I work in vet med and understand residents need the case load... But I am feeling rushed and a little dismissed when I go in because I feel like her plate is too full...

I'm dealing with:

Hypersomnia/sleep apnea

Anxiety/depression

Insulin resistance (new)

Hemophilia A(new diagnosis)

Would prefer a female doctor, but will see a male if good recommendations.

Have Regence insurance.

Forsyte Saga (2002)

Spoilers? Idk.

Started watching last night.

Thought I couldn't dislike anyone much more than Soames... Then his mother comes in during the depression scene telling him he "loves too much" with all his heart. 🤢

Even if she doesn't know about the *ape... Ugh.

Need help searching:

I live in an apartment that only has 1 opening window in the bedroom and then a sliding glass door to the balcony with no AC in unit.

I've got a floor portable AC ... But I think it's dying out/needs charged(is that a thing?) luckily it's been pretty mild where I'm at and always get cool at night... But I like my room COLD to sleep because I'm a hot sleeper.

I put a window fan in the window last night and it works... But now I can't shut the blinds or curtains to block out light but still allowed air flow.

I've got a face mask, but am also trying to get used to a CPAP so having a hard time keeping it on....

So basically I'm looking for opinions on budget friendly options to stay cool at night or setups I haven't thought of yet... Fan recommendations?

I've looked at things like the bedjet and cold water mattress toppers, but it's all so pricey and I'm broke... I do have a little money in my HSA so eligible recommendations are also appreciated.

Starting CPAP therapy

FINALLY got my CPAP machine today and about to go to bed and start using it.

I've got nasal pillows. I sleep with my mouth closed 99% of the time.

Does anyone have anything they use along with their equipment that they feel makes your experience better? I see people online doing mouth tape and what not... But is that actually helpful? Any creams for the nasal pillows ? Etc etc.

I'm not diagnosed. I'm starting therapy. Maybe I will be. Maybe I won't... but I am feeling very understood when reading the posts. Found it when I searched "unable to wake up no matter what" basically. Found an old archived post. I cried.

So many people understanding. I'd posted in a sleep apnea group earlier basically word vomiting and asking for help with work accommodations (flexible start time of a 15 minute window basically) and all I got was 2 comments telling me I was a worthless person basically :(

So anyway. Thanks for appearing to be an understanding group. I look forward to seeing more posts!

(this became a ramble and maybe a bit of a need for validation and understanding)

TLDR; how to word the need for start time flexibility & protection from writeups if I fall back asleep/oversleep due to sleep apnea symptoms while I'm waiting on my CPAP and getting it figured out.

I've searched the thread and know some others have had success and after today, I am thinking more seriously about applying and needing some help on how to word things I think....

Background:

I've always struggled with getting out of bed and running 10-15 minutes late to work or school. If my dad didn't wake me up and take me to school I was usually tardy for my first class.

It has continued, but I've always been a night owl and I've had lots of rotating/on call and night work schedules for the last 12 years as a veterinary technician so have just figured it was a "me" probably. However, after 6 months of a new job that I didn't hate and a consistent schedule and trying to improve my sleep hygiene I was still having issues. I finally got diagnosed in 10/25 with an at home study!! It's very validating to know I do actually have a problem and I'm not just lazy!!

But now I still don't have a CPAP 6 months post diagnosis because of establishing care, getting a titration study, and now waiting for insurance and the equipment company to get it together....

Today I ended up answering my mom's text (yeah mom still texts and calls her 34yr old daughter to make sure she's up lol) getting up and turning off my alarm clock across the room and going to the bathroom, but was hardly able to keep my eyes open, dizzy etc. I laid back down and unfortunately turned off all my alarms... Woke up 20 minutes after my start time to my supervisor texting me 🙃

I'm getting worried I'll end up getting writeups and losing a great job.

I'm hopeful once I get on the CPAP and have used it for awhile all my problems will got away... But since this continues to drag on and I know I could also have other sleep disorders causing issues since I've had issues since I was young...I would like to hopefully protect myself while I'm figuring it all out.

I'd like accommodations that basically allow me some flexibility instead of a hard start time. We have until 8:07 AM until we are "late" and have to clock in at 8:15am. I don't necessarily want to start later because then I would have to work later for the hours and my time would just shift...I just want to get written up if I have a rough week and come in everyday at 8:15 instead of 8.

And also understanding/protection if I have a day like today where I couldn't function and just fell back to sleep. We are supposed to notify the supervisor/team if we won't be in the office by 8:15...but if I literally fall back asleep/oversleep I can't do that 😂 so I don't want that to become some that they can be like "well you didn't tell us you weren't going to be on time"

I work in the anesthesia department of a teaching hospital. The team does need to know when I'll be in so that they know what cases I can run. So I can't do hybrid etc etc. But basically knowing that I had these accommodations would help my anxiety (which then makes everything else worse). I'm able to pick my cases usually and usually pick later cases unless I REALLY want to run something earlier and on my 1st day of the week the team will usually put me on a later case because they know I cut it close.

Edit #1: If you're just gonna tell me I'm a piece of shit and lazy. I'm just going to block you 😂 If you don't think I'm allowed accommodations, then just keep scrolling. Like I mentioned already. I don't think it's all sleep apnea that is causing my issues. I have others I want to look into. But I am having to treat one thing at a time. I'm not always late. It's cyclical. (Which is why I think there are other issues) I'm trying to get better. I'm trying to improve. Being told I'm the problem doesn't help that. Doesn't make me want to get better.
