Marvel rivals casual scene.

People say this game is balanced for casuals and this and that. That's good and all but where is the calm and chill experience that casual games often give. Like let's have fun, why so serious.

There is barely any silly content, people treat pratice doom match role playing like its bad thing.

Like what happened to arcade game modes ?

Clobbering club? Why there isn't any attention to these modes.

Why did they design BP, Black cat like that. I definetly would not recomend a beginner to fight agaisn't those? Why did they intend to have a sniper in the form of old black widow or hawkeye one shot if casuals don't like playing agaisnt snipers at all ?

Why is there so much visual clutter ? Don't we want this game to be more accessible to more people, what is the benefit of having screen shake ? why not add real recoil ? Like why does deadpool shaking his plushie have screen shake?

Don't even talk about optimasation especially on times square.

For a casual game, casuals don't seem to have the best reputation. Sometimes, I enjoy the game but it also feels more like trying to have fun in a competitive game.

Anyway hopefully you guys have fun in your next match.

Support design will be doomed as long as healing ults are seen as the golden standard.

The damage ults like CND and Luna have done to the support roster is crazy.

The only way I can describe it is like a black hole, all supports must be created in a way that can either compete or be the same as those healing ults.

Jeff ults is one of the most creative ults in the game , but most people will think it's bad because it puts you in a disadvantage against these black hole ults.Same with Fox Ult.

The design of support ults is like you either heal enough or bring other benefits to compete against the black hole.

Don't believe Invis ult literally got buffed from 180 to 200 hp because people died too much on her ult compared to CND and Luna.

That's why gambit Ult will never get nerfed because the ult is a support designed to compete against the black hole . It was never a high healing ult.

So if you take out those effects or nerf those things so the devs fear it might be bad.

The reason most support ult in this game were reworked was because of the black hole. I felt so bad that Jubilee was another healing circle ult.

Compare this year design creativity to last year.

Last year the only healing circle ult was Invis, with ultron and Gambit actually being something that's not a healing circle.

This year we got deadpool, Jubilee, the only non healing circle standard ult was Fox.

A lot of Marvel rivals streamers are literally the biggest overwatch promoters accidentally.

I don't know if it's because the game is new, so there is less of a loyal fan base.

But when it comes to overwatch vs. Marvel rivals argument. It's way more likely that the Marvel rivals person will praise Overwatch rather than the opposite.

The way Marvel rivals streamers talk about support design in overwatch will have you think that strategists are treated differently on that game and are the most respected role. GG no heals will still be said in both games. They just have different game play loop.

I can't imagine how awful the slander would be if Marvel rivals had the same gameplay and balance as overwatch. I am not looking forward to these debates becoming bigger, especially if Overwatch decides to go back to 6v6 as the main mode.

I don't know much about other games, but there's definitely games from the same genre that had different design and balance philosophies that are still successful. I mean, people still play TF2 to this day, and that game is way older than overwatch.

There is no way everything that is set by and made by Overwatch has to be followed.

I know they defined the hero shooter genre, but it would be kind of boring to basically be the same game or have too much similarity.

I don't know, maybe it's because most of Marvel rivals streamers are from Overwatch, but I have yet too see them to suggest something that makes the game better without it being just copy what overwatch does.

The part that irritates me the most is when streamers say that Marvel rivals had the handbook to learn from Overwatch 10 years of balancing.

I say this is wrong because Overwatch has not yet figured out how to make permanent fliers balanced. They still didn't figure out how to make players enjoy or play tank more.

It's also barely has or had big melee dps heroes roster the size of MR , so there's barely any sufficient data for Marvel rivals to copy on how to balance melee heroes.

Also, it's still trying to fix sombra till this day.

Overwatch has it goods and bads. It's not a perfect game .

No one in overwatch thinks 6v6 and 5v5 should have the same type of balance. Not even the devs.

Why is it normalised to think overwatch 5v5 balance should be replicated in Marvel rivals.

I want this game to be creative and do something new.

I mean, they could literally straight up add perks, but we got a new team up instead.

If Marvel rivals want to be a high healing + high damage, they should balance it in a way that makes the players feel good about it.

Identify what's wrong with the player base and then solve it from there's no need to straight up copy.

Reworking the whole strategist roster will leave an extremely sour taste in players.

Reworks of that scale are bound to be disastrous, and knowing Marvel Rivals' track record with reworks not satisfying the old player base. To this day, we still see w jeff players wanting the rework reverted. Imagine how bad it would be to rework the entire strategist roster to be like overwatch.😂😂😂😂 Good luck with that. People couldn't even handle day 1 of season 9, so I don't think copying everything overwatch does will lead to instant success.

Having this mentality is what leads to us having kits like Hulk. Which yeah feels very similar to the golden standard of dive tank in the form of Winston in ex overwatch streamer eyes. But it barely feels like Hulk power fantasy.

The main selling point of the game is Marvel Power Fantasy.

Overwatch has a different selling point value. They create their own lore and can change it any time. It's a futuristic / cyber punk like game.

That's their fantasy.

Overwatch let's sombra have hack and invisibilty because of heroe fantasy, despite her high ban rate, is the same way Marvel rivals should honour their fantasy.

Maybe I am wrong, but it just feels some of these streamers are forced to play Marvel rivals because of either burnout from playing so many years or money.

Which one would you choose if you were a coach.

You are trying to find a second dps that can fill the flex position.

1 - A melee player that hates playing gun characters and refuses to learn them , but its extremely good on Wolverine, Black Cat , and Daredevil.

2 - A gun/poke enthusiast player who refuses to learn melee characters and calls it melee slop, but it's extremely flexible when it comes to gun heroes.

What would be your answer if you are MRC team playing in this current meta ?

What would be your answer if you are an Ignite team, which will play on season 10 patch in which nobody knows how the meta will be?

Few questions about the point system ?

Do the league points and mrc champion points transfer over to next year?

What's the path for the mrc teams that can't qualify for ignite this year. Will winning MRC season 9, 10 and 11 matter or just season 12 to qualify for pre season next year.
