The scammers keep spamming but please remember that no one is giving away free concert tickets or iPads or Mac books. Don’t believe the discounted ones either!
Use valid sites that you look up. Do not click through an unsolicited link. If it’s a cash transaction, do it in person at the UIC police station.
If it sounds too good to be true, it IS too good to be true. Save your money. Don’t get scammed.
Just a heads up that your professor may have a cheaper deal through a book provider than you can get elsewhere. Even if you don’t get a cheaper option this way, it automatically links your purchase to the class. Buying directly through the provider requires course codes and not all professors know that info (first hand experience here…). The linking occurs automatically when you use the free days of the book, for the providers who offer that feature.
ALSO. The bookstore charges a non refundable 5.99 electronic delivery fee. If you return an electronic book, they CANNOT (read: will not) refund that delivery fee. It is allegedly “on the receipt.” Again, first hand experience by me.
I always want the book early. It IS worth waiting, as annoying as that is.

The pressure is rough. I have only myself to blame, of course, for taking the class during the summer. I know that it isn’t the end of the world (or my academic career) if things go sideways and I fail. I’ve seen a few posts about the curve. Ngl, I’m leaning hard into that curve!!
