Currently Im paying my parents mortgage which is about $1100 a month. On top of paying my car insurance and both my parents car insurance. Which is about $800 a month. I also pay all the utilities like electricity which is about $400 to $500 a month.

Hello everyone. I was recently terminated from my job and there is some really shady stuff going on, office administrators have forged paperwork with incorrect dates and are trying to act like they hired me at a later date than they did to avoid paying me out my due bonuses/etc. They also forged documents and dates where I supposedly “called out” as reason for my termination even though I have proof that I was working those days.
I also have documented proof of targeted harassment from office administrators. I have proof that my schedule was changed last minute on several occasions to try and cause me to NCNS, I have proof of derogatory statements made about me and my circumstances by office administrators. I have proof of this company violating their own attendance policies, scheduling single staff to work houses that they are paid to double staff, and overall generally unsafe working conditions.
I am still in the phase of gathering all of my physical copies and evidence together in a folder. I am currently looking for wrongful termination attorneys, but I have no experience with this and I’m scared of getting scammed. If anyone has any decent experience with reliable termination lawyers, please send me their way!
Also, to avoid any legal trouble, this is all I’ll say: be very careful which agencies you trust with the care of your disabled loved ones. You have no idea the kind of things that are sheltered and swept under the rug in the name of saving a few bucks and keeping staff as low as possible at all times.
I live off of Park Marina and I am wanting to switch my gym from Crunch to something closer and less busy, both these gyms are right across the street from each other off Athens so I’m curious which one is better? Also does either of them include a guest I can bring like crunch and PF? or maybe a discount for a partner? The Amtrak thruway bus line followed highway 99 from Redding to Chico and down to Sacramento. Was very convenient for someone living in Redding and going to school in Chico. It has now been replaced with a bus line down I5, stopping in Orland and Williams. The quickest route now by bus from Redding to Chico is 4 hours (stop in Orland and take a bus from Orland to Chico) where it used to be an hour and a half. They must have saved 15 minutes on the bypass?
Very convenient for all the traffic going to Orland and Williams.
Anyone happen to know if/when a full fiber infrastructure is going in around Redding? I'm seeing other areas are just starting to get it like along 97 towards Macdoel and I'm getting jealous. I know a small few select neighborhoods in Redding have it with AT&T-not a lot of homes but a few-but as a whole most of us are just stuck with either spectrum or starlink which are okay. I would have thought it's 2026, come on now why are we still on coax? I mean, to be fair spectrum isn't that bad, I can game just fine but for the price it should be symmetrical and better ping by now. That "fiber-powered" bs marketing everywhere isn't even accurate cuz it's all coax. Fiber to the neighborhoods and coax to the home that's insane.
FCC Broadband map isn't showing any growth in fiber availability here either. Didn't Newsom put in a broadband availability thing for California? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if so what's going on here?
I set my laptop on a short table but it was tipped over while the laptop was open and it fell right on the outer bottom edge of the screen. As soon as it dropped on the tile, the side lines appeared, but when I turned it on and off again, more lines appeared at the bottom. The mouse still works but the touchscreen is useless now. I’m so scared because I need to do a presentation tomorrow (for a class, nothing super important but still) and all the local stores are closed atm. What do I do????

I am working with a local non-profit to improve therapeutic services with high risk teen boys. One of the first projects we’ve identified is a garden they have started to put together with things on hand. I am wondering if anyone knows of local individuals or businesses that would be willing to invest small grants into activities and supplies to help increase opportunities for these boys in our community.

I went to the Northern Cali Card Show this afternoon from 1-2pm at the Veteran’s Memorial and purchased these two cards from one of the vendors near the entrance. Unfortunately, I must have misplaced them as I have not been able to find them since coming home. I searched through my bag and car without any luck. I’m hoping I didn’t drop them on my way from the show but I was wondering if I somehow left them on a vendor’s table by mistake. Idk where’s the first place to start looking but I wanted to try here.

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.
While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? We are a property management company here in Redding and recently discovered that one of our vacant homes had been used as part of a convincing DoorDash scam. And the delivery driver is out a few hundred dollars!
A local driver received an order for one cheesy roll-up from Taco Bell. She delivered it to the vacant house around 7:30 a.m., took her required photo, then drove away.
Shortly afterward, someone called claiming to represent DoorDash. The caller said that the customer feared for their safety because a “big scary man” had supposedly completed the delivery. They told her that she needed to verify her identity by texting photos of her driver’s license, her face and her DoorDash card.
Believing she was speaking with DoorDash, she followed their instructions. The scammers then used the info to log into her DoorDash account and stole $200.00. She was devastated.
Our team drove over to check on the property. The cheesy roll-up was still sitting untouched on the porch. It appears that someone placed a tiny order at a vacant home simply so they could target whoever accepted and completed that delivery.
Please never text anyone photos of your ID, payment card or account information because they called claiming to represent DoorDash. End the call and contact DoorDash directly through your driver app or an independently verified support number.
If you already provided this information, immediately contact DoorDash and your bank, change your passwords and consider freezing your credit.
Please share this with local delivery drivers. This scam was convincing and could easily happen to someone else.

Hi all, I'm a trans dude, though I'm not yet on testosterone. I pass very well for a guy, minus my voice, and I'm not willing to be very open about being trans. I didn't see any gender neutral bathrooms as Shasta college, are there any single restrooms? Going into women's restrooms has been a little bit of an issue for me in the past. Would going into the men's potentially turn into a problem for me?
From a friend: "My PCP has repeatedly labeled me as morbidly obese and billed for obesity counseling despite inaccurate height and weight information in my chart and despite my showing her an urgent-care record documenting me at 5'7" and 135 pounds. When I asked for the record to be corrected, I was told I was “in denial” about my weight.
During an appointment that was supposed to be for a shoulder injury, she lectured me about how obesity was supposedly affecting my life, told me she would not hire me because of my weight, said she would not want to be seen with me if we were friends or family, suggested my weight was likely why certain family members were not in my life, and told me I should be grateful my husband had not divorced me.
When I tried to defend myself by saying I wear a women’s size small, she responded that she wears an XXS, said her physique is what a woman should actually look like, and told me that wearing a small does not mean I am not fat.
The inaccurate obesity diagnosis has also followed me into other medical care, where an orthopedic provider suggested my shoulder injury from falling off a ladder might not have happened if I had “actually tried losing weight” and stopped eating so much fast food, even though I do not eat fast food. These experiences have created a serious barrier to care and have made me reluctant to seek medical treatment at all."
This is the complaint my friend is planning to send to the medical board. Just fyi this type of billing happens all the time. I work in medical insurance and half the calls are people upset about being billed for obesity counciling when they are not obese or never even talked about it. It's really easy to manipulate height and weight in the chart so you can bill for obesity. It's easy .oney for a lot of offices.

Super stoked about this service! It goes to Sac airport, has WiFi, and makes a few stops so you can go to the restroom. It’s just slightly longer than driving yourself, but you get to kick your feet up and relax. Much cheaper than paying for parking at the airport or taking a rental car. Use it or lose it!
