With all bad posts about Koho I'll share a good one
Obviously majority of people will post after they had a bad experience, rarely after it was a good one.
I've signed up for Koho a long time ago, even though I mostly use 2 other (big 5) banks I still have and use Koho.
Over the years I had 2 issues similar to some recent posts but they were resolved.
Sold a car and seller paid deposit to hold it until he could come get it. It was a large amount ($3k) and boa bank initially blocked etransfer but he got a certified check and paid in full when he came to get the car, etransfer was reversed. My account was locked for some reason. I've called and emailed customer service and it was fixed within 2 days.
A year later I couldn't log in, emailed customer service and was told that CRA sent RTP letter to Koho. Odd because I definitely don't owe anything so I called CRA and they confirmed it but it was their error, somehow RTP was sent requesting payment for $0.00 After talking with CRA they faxed a letter to Koho and my account was restored that same day.
Mind you I had occasional issues with TD and RBC over the last 20 years so it happens with every bank, so never keep all your liquid funds in just one bank.
Calling TD/RBC would resolve issues but it would usually require multiple calls and branch wasn't able to do much because it's usually their back office that handles things.
One thing I like about Koho is email support, so no need to spend an hour or more on the phone.
There are many FIs available, just use the ones you like or can tolerate the best..but I'd say at least 2, never just one.
