Hey everyone,

My Hierodula majuscula (Giant Rainforest Mantis) last moulted on July 30th, but she’s still not showing any obvious signs of pre-moult.

Her temperature stays steady around 24–25°C with 60–70% humidity, and she has plenty of vertical clearance in her enclosure for when she does decide to shed.

Is this kind of timeline normal for this stage? How long do they usually take between moults? Any advice is appreciated.

I’m in the middle of setting up a bioactive terrarium for my mantis. I believe I have everything I need, but I’m a little stuck with the substrate. I have the drainage layer, sphagnum moss, dead leaves and coco fibre, as well as springtails. Should I add anything else to the soil to help any plants grow, or do I have enough?
