l've been unemployed for 3 years after being terminated from my previous job. I applied to thousands of jobs and struggled with depression badly enough that I was under psychiatric treatment for a year.
I currently live with family, and my older brother constantly checks my shelves and comments on personal things like my supplements or creams.
Today he joked that even though my SIL and I have degrees, we're "just making poli(Indian sweets)" and everyone laughed. When I shared about this to my mom she just dismissed it.( He’s just a school dropout luckily through connections he got a marketing manager job).
What hurt is that he knows my situation and still mocks me indirectly. I froze and couldn't respond. I already feel ashamed about where iam in life, and these comments make home feel emotionally unsafe.
How do you deal with family members who disguise humiliation as "jokes," especially when you're already strugglina with confidence and unemployment?
My brother dropped out after 9th in 2017 and hasn’t studied for almost 9 years. He now has an opportunity for an Assistant HR role at a grocery delivery company, but minimum 10th qualification is mandatory.
He struggles with reading/writing Telugu and Hindi, so we are considering NIOS instead of state open school because the language options seem more manageable.
I’m a BTech graduate and will personally help him study, so we are thinking of self-preparation instead of weekly coaching classes.
Has anyone here passed NIOS 10th after a long education gap through self-study? Which subjects/language combinations would you recommend for someone weak in languages?
Ingredients:
400g dates

Peanut butter
Method:
Deseed the dates and fill them with peanut butter.
Refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes.
Melt the dark chocolate using the double boiler method and mix in the ghee.
Coat the chilled dates in the melted chocolate.
Refrigerate for a few hours until set.
Amma made chicken biryani and it was 🤌🔥
Along with it, ordered chicken majestic and pepper chicken from Angaara.
Ended it with mango ice cream + Thums Up 🥭🥤
Nothing fancy, just good food and full satisfaction 💛
What’s your favorite combo with biryani?
