Undersea Quilling

Let me try to answer the questions I got from previous post comments.

This took quite some time. I would say about 2 months. Started with a sketch, then cutting loads of paper, crimping some parts and then building everything to size.

Created this for a hospital building, children's unit where it now hangs.

I usually do floral quilling but in recent times I've had interesting requests. So this was a challenge for me. Definitely learnt a lot and made mistakes along the way, but that is part of the journey :)

Belinda's Dream

Belinda's Dream is a Texas Superstar rose and I got 2 of them recently and have falled in love. If there is soft creamy yet bright pink, this has it. When I can, I try to read on the history, it fascinates me.

The Breeder: The rose was bred by Dr. Robert E. Basye, a mathematics professor at Texas A&M University who pursued rose breeding as a lifelong hobby. Dr. Basye was a perfectionist and nearly discarded this rose from his breeding collection because it did not meet his specific goals (such as being entirely thornless). Before it could be destroyed, his friend Dr. William Welch (of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension) rescued the rose from Basye's collection. Before it could be destroyed, his friend Dr. William Welch (of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension) rescued the rose from Basye's collection. He passed it onto Antique Rose Emporium in 1988.

Perfume Delight - or is it?

I got Perfume Delight thinking I would be delighted with the perfume. Well, there is no smell but it is a stunning color! Wow. What a beautiful lipstick red.

Rose name is Julie Andrews

Got her a few months ago. She was healthy but not flowering in her pot. It was a small pot and I hadnt changed her from when I got her. I put her in the ground and wow! Her color is absolutely stunning.

No smell but she makes up for color.

Joseph's Coat first bloom

My internet friend sent me a bareroot of Joseph's Coat from Home Depot on 4/3. It had traveled a lot by the time it reached me.

40 days till it bloomed from zero. So happy about this one:)

My first bloom from Sherezade and I am not only blown away by the petal shape but also the smell. Deep, citrus, spicy rosy smell that has so much character.
