Issues with Plaid <-> Vancity, where to go from here

YNAB has issues with my bank account - doesn't sync. I did get it to connect but it doesn't sync reliability. It is 13 days since it last synced currently.

I have look at many other options but they all use Plaid and there are issues connecting to Vancity (credit union in Canada). I can connect to my credit card (BMO) but not my checking account (Vancity).

Any suggestions for Canadian users (in particular Vancity clients)?

Rest Thursday or Friday?

Travelling with kids ages 8, 11 and 13 and staying within walking distance. We are going last week of July 2026.

Current plan:

  • Tue: Disney
  • Wed: DCA
  • Thu: Rest
  • Fri: Disney
  • Sat: Universal
  • Sun: Travel home

Alternative:

  • Tue: Disney
  • Wed: DCA
  • Thu: Disney
  • Fri: Rest
  • Sat: Universal
  • Sun: Travel home

Would you keep the Thursday rest day to avoid three Disney days in a row, or switch it to Friday for a possible quieter Disneyland day and a break before Universal?

Viewing area for world of colour at DCA using virtual queue versus dining package

The viewing area that you use after entering the virtual queue for world of colour at DCA is it any different than the viewing area that you got from booking a dining package for world of colour (not the dessert package - just the dining restaurant package is what I am considering).

I’m assuming the time you have to get there by to get a decent spot may differ and also whether you see the first or second show will have an impact on your view due to crowds as well, but I’m just wondering if the actual area is different.

Will be there July 28.

Help improve our current Disneyland/Universal plan

This was the plan proposed to us by our Disney Travel agent. I see now there are evening tickets Monday- Wednesday. We are flying in and out of SNA from Vancouver. We arrive at 12:30 pm on Monday.

We plan on taking an Uber to Universal.

If you have any additional insight or ideas on how this plan can be improved that would be appreciated.

First time visitors: 2 parents and three kids ages 13, 11, 8.

Thank you!

Lunchtime at school

My child is 8 and has an IEP. The school has recently been sending him to “lunch club,” which is a separate room with a teacher’s assistant and usually two other students.

My concern is that he is being removed from eating with his class because he is struggling during a lunch period that does not have adult supervision in the regular classroom. His Grade 2/3 class is monitored by two Grade 4 students during the 20-minute eating time. The monitors’ role is to write down the names of students with behaviour concerns and report back to the teacher.

In my view, peer monitoring is not the same as adult supervision. It may help the teacher know what happened after the fact, but it does not provide real-time support, redirection, or coaching for a child who may need help being successful in that setting.

I understand the need for a calm and safe lunch environment, and I am not saying there should be no expectations or consequences. However, I am concerned that my child is being regularly excluded from eating with his class instead of being supported to succeed in the classroom lunch setting.

He was recently eating separately for about three weeks, and this was not communicated to me by the school. I only knew because I asked my child.

My request is that the school provide adult supervision or adult support during lunch so my child has a fair opportunity to remain included with his class. I want him to be set up for success while still being held to appropriate expectations.

I personally feel he is not being set up for success. I guess he eats apart from his class for the foreseeable future with the current plan. He also has to not only meet behaviour expectations during lunch but before also in the morning as well to earn the privilege to stay in the class for lunch.

The teacher also suggested I could come and supervise him at lunch.
