I am due to have an elective surgery. Very likely, will need time off work 10 days after. What kind of leave will you ask for? Annual leave for the whole period or maybe annual leave for just the day of the surgery and a couple of days after and then sick leave for the rest of the time? What’s your take on this? What people do commonly?
