Can I just share a relatable anecdote? What the F World?

I have had a WEEK. My car died last Saturday, turns out we need to pay $5K US to replace the turbo on it - ouch... then they took it on a test drive to see that the turbo was ok, THEN the engine apparently "threw a rod" (IDK what this means...) so the warranty is actually covering a replacement engine (yay?) so we borrowed my MILs car while the car was in the shop for what we thought was a brief moment in time. Then this morning, while I was at the grocery store with my MILs car, some dude backed into me while pulling out of his space (not serious damage but needs to be repaired) but I'm like WTF WORLD? LMAO! I know this is not essentially the theme of Young Hyun's song but it just came up while I was listening and I vibed. WTF World? lol Shows that music can be universal and healing in unexpected way. Thanks Young K, this helped me.

Dehydrated kimchi at the St. Paul Farmers Market

Does anyone know this vendor? I bought a jar of their dehydrated kimchi about 6 weeks ago and then went back 2 weeks ago and couldn't find them. It's SO addictive, like crack chips, and I was planning on getting several more jars to grind into sprinkles to put on other stuff. And to be honest on the day I bought it, I clocked they had other dehydrated stuff too that I might be into. Just curious if anyone knows who they are and if I can find them there again. Willing to go wherever in the TCs just to stock up.

Am I starting Lovely Runner for the 10th time? Well, yes, yes I am.

This is so my comfort watch. We had a deluge of content this spring, but the summer content, up to now, is not giving me a Friday-Saturday, Saturday-Sunday, Monday-Tuesday, Wednesday-Thursday serotonin boost. Yes, I have a problem. But I have my Im Sol and Ryu Sun Jae. And, I do have a slight addiction, freely admitting it.

Heo Nam-jun talks about Young K being in the My Royal Nemesis OST

This is soooo sweet. And I am not going to lie that "Season of Us" isn't on my loop/

Heo also shared how DAY6’s Young K came to participate in the “My Royal Nemesis” soundtrack. Their connection began on the variety show “Our Village Puppy.” Heo said they do not meet often, but their personalities match well enough that their group chat still becomes active from time to time.

The OST discussion began with a cautious suggestion from director Han Tae-seop. One day, Han played Heo the song first. “The song was so good that I thought he was just sharing it with me,” Heo said. “I remember it being good enough to make my heart move a little.”

Only afterward did Han carefully mention Young K, and Heo realized what the director had in mind. On his way back from the gym, Heo called Young K. He said it was difficult to ask directly, so he began by talking around the subject.

“Young-hyun, what are you doing?” Heo recalled saying, before eventually bringing up the OST.

Young K’s answer was immediate. “I’ll do it. If it’s yours, I should do it,” he told him.

Kumusta: thoughts

I, as a whole, avoid "Western" "reality" shows, just because iykyk. And I've really loved so many of the Korean reality shows - inasmuch as there is reality involved. But this one - it's Filipino, though it's sort of Korean because of Ji Chang Wook, Seo In Guk, Kim Min Seok, Kim Myeong Soo, and of course it's actually happening in Seoul. I don't know how to express this, but it's so AWKWARD? And I'm seriously not criticizing it because I think there is a bit of the cultural thing, but from a production standpoint, there kind of feels like there was very little "production" involved in that they just threw this cast into a situation without a lot of prep. The head chef seems to be accomplished in his field, but I'm quite confused on how he is getting things kind of wrong? The difference between a kitchen in Korea vs the Philippines is non existent. I'm a little shocked that JCW agreed to this, though I know he has a huge Filipino fan base, so maybe I get it. But the lack of preparation to introduce Filipino food to a Korean customer base was a little weird. They pulled in Choi Hyun Seok, who is a great chef, for what seemed a little bit of a cursory evaluation of the dishes, which felt more obligatory. They have no Filipino cast that can speak Korean, Ji Chang Wook doesn't speak English to the point he can communicate with the rest of the cast, the guests - do not get me started on JCW pulling in In Guk to help clear tables (genuinely the cutest interaction ever and I am not complaining). But maybe I am misinterpreting a cultural difference that I don't know about Pinoy reality shows vs those I am familiar with. Not gonna lie, I'm going to keep watching because of JCW, but this one is very strange to me.

What is happening with the CJENM app?

I've spouted on this before, but WTH? I literally only subscribe so I can watch Yoo Quiz on the Block and Amazing Saturday, but neither has been updated since April. I went to cancel on Amazon and they offered a 3 month extension for like pennies, so whatever. But I'm actually interested in both of these shows because YouTube only gives sort of out of context clips and not full episodes. I'm willing to pay for full episodes, and I'm clearly doing so, so why? (Soz for the rant but jeez) (*just hoping my obscure rant may reach someone with clout)

Doctor on the Edge - uri Kim Yoon Woo

Is anyone else clocking the adorable Yong Ju Cheon, the traditional "Oriental Medicine" doctor (Kim Yoon Woo) in the clinic, as the heartbreaking Ryang Eum from My Dearest? Kim Yoon Woo is so wonderful, it's fantastic to see him in a much less angsty role but with just as much charisma. He may have taken some notes from Namkoong Min in being a chameleon in his roles because this one could not be further from Ryang Eum.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the CJENM app/subscription and no updates on new episodes?

I subscribed to it via Amazon because I specifically wanted to catch up on You Quiz on the Block and Amazing Saturday, which I did to go back and watch certain episodes. But now I want to watch the current ones and it's taking FOREVER for new episodes to be posted. It's been a month+ for both. I know that the new episodes take about a month longer than the original airdate to go up - I would imagine the translation, etc. - but that plus the month of nothing added to the available episodes means about 2 months of shows that aren't there yet. Anyone have an insight? It's annoying as heck. There have been so many great guests on both in the last couple of months. And since I am a Young K fan, since his addition as a regular cast member on Amazing Saturday, it just makes me want to watch it more. 😒

Dino on Bonjour Bakery

Am I wrong that Dino is the first member to appear on this type of variety show solo? It's a very gentle slice-of-life show (a la Village Barber) but I cannot think of another show where a single/solo member did an appearance like this. All for it, it's super cute.
