for some context i kinda have two options for my stem rec

so of my choices could be to ask my 10th grade calc bc teach. we r pretty close and hes helped me alot with math comp since 9th/10th and ive qualed usamo this yr. so id think ive been with him for quite some time and we r pretty close. this year im in one of his stem classes still (not his math course tho)
on the other hand, this other teacher ive had i havent had his class til this yr(junior yr in multi/de). but hes also helped out alot with my comp math sincee 9th grade to. this second teacher also is the coach for the school math team (which the first teacher isnt) and ive been on the school math team for 10 and 11 so id say we are also pretty close.
so the question comes who to ask…. bc ive heard its better to have junior yr teachers to write you rec compared to sophmore yr?
also idk if this may play a role but the second teacher def has a more asian sounding name (on our site its kust his straight korean name no english) whereas the first teach is also asian but his first name is john so idk ive heard aos might be biased in this way?

my current paper is under review and originally there were 6 reviewers invited and 3 accepted. now suddenly today (2 reviewers have given their reviews to the editor alr) theres 8 reviewers invited and 4 accepted?? does this like mean anything?

I got a internship at a topish med school (not a t15 but wtv) through cold emailing without connections (got cooked by summer programs). ill likely end up with a poster which might culminate in a full manuscript in the fall.

I was just wondering how much this will help for like college apps in the case i only end up with a poster... or nothing at all ....

how long in general does it take for the peer reviewers to submit comments and stuff...

this is my first time submitting here so idk.. i alr got one of the reviewers comments within a few days of submitting but its been like ~3 weeks since then.. should i follow up with the editor or just keep waiting
