Share your non-conventional game tricks!
I'll start: In Lineage 2 I played as an Elven Elder. As a healer-class I can dispatch undead monsters, but I'm kinda useless against non-undead monsters. Especially, aggressive non-undead monsters which are super annoying for me.
So in hunting areas where there are both undead and non-undead monsters presented I'd first draw away non-undead monsters from their original location to another location about 100m away, then use hold/sleep magic to 'anchor' them to a new location. The magic will wane out after 15-20sec, but they will stay there for as long as I'm out of their sight.
After that I can deal with the undead monsters without being interfered by aggressive non-undead monsters. Hooray!
Obviously there are 2 drawbacks for this trick - Firstly, the monsters will stay at the new location until someone enters their line-of-sight, possibly scattering them again. Secondly, if someone kill these non-undead monsters they'll respawn at the original location which means I'll have to repeat the whole process again.
So what are some of the cool tricks have you been using in games?
Fond moments with a true Flash game?
I kept thinking about it every once in a while. Around 2002 I played RockStar’s fly swatter. If memory served it was a Flash game on their website you can play while downloading something from their website (or when their website is dow).
The game is simple, yet quite challenging & satisfying - you have a swatter and a few flies hopping around the screen. The flies will react to your swatter movement, speed and shadow cast. Once you’ve squished the flies more will enter the screen. Once you’ve swatted like 20 flies they will stop coming.
i managed to download it using Flash Downloader it was one of my best time killers.
