So what is the best day to leave for train hopping?

I am planning to try to leave sometime next week. Whenever it’s warm out again as today it was very cloudy as if it’s going to rain. So I obviously can’t leave today or I would be stuck and would have to go back.

I plan to camp out for as long as I can. It’s about a 29 minutes walk to the train tracks where I am. That was the only place with some stopped carts that I saw a few months ago. So I am sure and most positive that there should be some more this coming week.

When are the trains most active? How do I know when to get on? I only know when to wait for the security guards to check everything first and then to hop on. I also did notice that the freight trains here don’t even leave until night fall most of the time. I’ve been keeping track lately and they do leave at around 10:30-11:30pm at night.

I just want to get out of here ASAP!!

Hoping to end up in the Midwest or the south! I’d be happier with either one.

So I am planning to leave tomorrow now!

I am hoping to find some stopped freight trains tomorrow and I am planning to hop on one of them! I am hoping to get lucky tomorrow evening and head out on the road. I already packed some water so after church I will head out around 3pm. Hoping to land out in Chicago or some other major city nowhere specific. I just want to get out of here ASAP. I feel like I’m in a flight mode right now and I need/want to get out.

I plan to camp out until I hear the train ready about to leave. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

So I am really thinking about leaving next Sunday and I am now planning to!

I am planning to walk over to the nearest train tracks which is a 29 minutes walk. I’d have to leave on Sunday when they least expect me to leave.

I plan to get a gallon of water, food and snacks to bring and just $30 for whatever city I land in.

I saw some stopped trains a few months ago so I believe I know where some could be. I just gotta follow the train tracks.

It’s way better than staying here for another day. I can wait one more week for when I get paid and then I’m out of here next Sunday!!!

Edit: I am even thinking of leaving early on Thursday or even Friday when I get paid.

I am trying my best to save up to $600 before I head out. My goal is to get to Los Angeles, CA.

Should I just stay there for the resources and the jobs? I could always get another better job in LA. I also do love Disneyland.

So now I am planning to leave on August 1st.

I will be homeless for a while but I do have a seasonal job to get by that I could transfer with at Amazon.
