Can being surrounded by people actually make loneliness feel worse?

Most people think loneliness only happens when you're by yourself.

But a lot of people have experienced the opposite. You're at a party, in a busy café, hanging out with friends, or scrolling through an active group chat... and somehow you still feel disconnected.

It raises an interesting question:

Is loneliness really about being alone, or is it about not feeling understood?

Have you ever had a conversation with just one person that made you feel more connected than spending an entire evening with a group?

What do you think creates that feeling? Is it vulnerability, shared interests, being listened to, or something else?

Curious to hear how you experience it. 👇

what's something you used to believe with your whole chest that life eventually changed your mind about?

i was thinking about this the other day and realized i don't actually see the world the same way i used to

i've been proven wrong so many times by people, relationships, work... just life in general. some lessons were painful, some were honestly for the better
