This was a major journey I am so happy to finally reach my goal
If you are reading this right now and feeling completely overwhelmed by a diabetes diagnosis, a daunting weight loss goal, or just the daily grind of managing your health this is your reminder that you are entirely capable of turning it around.
A few months ago, I was facing a mountain. But after overhauling my nutrition, locking in a consistent exercise routine, and staying disciplined, I am officially down over 70 pounds. More importantly, my metabolic health has completely transformed, and my blood sugar stability is in a place I never thought possible.
I’m sharing this not to brag, but to be the proof you might need to see today. When you're in the thick of it, it’s easy to feel like your body is working against you. But the human body is incredibly resilient. Every single positive choice you make every balanced meal, every workout, every time you choose to keep going is a brick in the foundation of a healthier future.
The momentum builds. The hard days get easier. And the version of you that succeeds is waiting on the other side of your consistency.
Don't let a diagnosis or a number on the scale define your limits. Take it one day, one choice at a time. You have the power to take control of your health and win this battle.
If you're grinding through your own journey right now, drop a comment below. What is one small win you are celebrating today? Let’s lift each other up!
Hey everyone,
I’m making this post because for a long time, I was the person lurking on this subreddit, reading everyone else's success stories and wondering if I’d ever be able to write my own. Today, I finally reached 168 lbs, down from my starting weight of 242 lbs (a total loss of 74 lbs).
I wanted to share a bit of my journey in the hopes that it helps someone who is currently where I was at the beginning.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my journey because looking at other people's progress on here has kept me motivated over the last several months.
In August of 2025, I got the wake-up call of my life. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. My HbA1c was at a dangerous 10.2, and I knew I had to make a drastic change.
In the before photo I was at my heaviest 242 lbs in the blue swimming trunks.
Today I am currently down to 169 lbs (a 73 lb loss). Even better, my latest labs came back with my A1C down to a 5.0!
I’m on a strict mission to completely reverse this thing. Based on how my body is responding and the consistency I’ve locked in, I fully believe I will be completely diabetes-free by this summer.
It’s been a lot of hard work, discipline, and completely changing my lifestyle, but it is 100% possible to take control of your health back.
Happy to answer any questions about what worked for me if anyone else is fighting a similar battle!
Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all having a blessed morning.
I wanted to share a milestone from my Type 2 diabetes journey in hopes that it gives some encouragement to anyone who might be feeling overwhelmed or stuck right now.
When I started, I was at my heaviest at 232 lbs. I was frustrated, sluggish, and knew I needed a complete overhaul of my lifestyle if I wanted to be there long-term for my family. Today, I am currently sitting at 171lbs, and my latest A1C came back at a stable 5.0.
I’m still very much a work in progress, and I know this journey is never truly "over," but hitting these numbers proved to me that real results come down to simple consistency over time.
I didn't do any crazy crash diets. For me, the turning point was focusing heavily on two things:
1 Daily Habits: Tracking my nutrition to keep things strictly diabetic-friendly and being intentional about movement every single day.
2 Staying Consistent: Accepting that some days are harder than others, but never letting one off-day turn into an off-week.
It takes massive discipline to reverse the trends, but it is 100% possible. If you are newly diagnosed, struggling with the lifestyle shift, or trying to figure out how to manage your weight alongside your blood sugar, please know you aren't alone in this.
I’m building out my routine in real-time right now. Ask me anything about the habits, the food adjustments, or the mental hurdles of staying on track I'm happy to share what worked for me!
Good morning everyone. I hope you’re having a blessed morning.
On the left, I weighed 247 lbs. On the right, I am currently 168 lbs. I’m still a work in progress, and I know my journey is not over yet.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and my A1C was 10.2. Today, my A1C is 5.0. Every day, I continue working toward my goal of reversing it through healthy choices, consistency, and faith.
This transformation didn’t happen overnight. It took commitment, discipline, and determination. There have been challenges along the way, but I refuse to give up.
God is amazing, and I thank Him for giving me the strength to keep moving forward. Thank you to everyone in this community for your support, encouragement, and inspiration. We are all fighting our own battles, and together we can keep pushing toward better health.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
