Salt Flats

Is there anywhere around Ogden or the north end of the lake to access the salt flats? I’ve driven out on them from the Wendover area, but it seems like with the lake being so low there must be somewhere to camp and do some astrophotography on the north side.

I was born in this state and I’ve never camped on the salt flats. Just trying to make that happen without driving to the other side of the lake. Thanks y’all.

The Al Franken episode is better than the Theo/Spade movie

I spent $5 to rent Bus Boys and it is the absolute worst, worst “comedy” movie I have ever seen. I would rather watch the Al Franken episode on repeat for 10 hours with no food or water than ever watch this movie again. I wouldn’t even think it was funny if I was 14 years old and stoned for the first time.

Mark, Sam, I don’t know if these comments make it to you, but for the love of GOD, please don’t put out a garbage movie to make a quick buck. I’ll never look at Theo or Spade the same again. I just can’t keep wondering how nobody involved told them how terrible it was. I don’t think you’d fuck us like this, but maybe give it a watch to see how bad things could get.

Highway 84 Idaho

Any good spots along the Highway 84 in Idaho? I’m driving from Utah to Washington over the next couple of days and I just found out I’ll be getting a late start tomorrow, so I think I’ll likely break up the drive. Halfway to my destination is roughly Boise. I have a Tacoma TRD and an RTT. Not necessarily looking for a full blown side quest, but I definitely don’t want to sleep near the freeway. Thanks!

Boise for a night.

My GF and I have decided we’re gonna break up a drive from Washington to Utah by checking out Boise for a night. Any hotel or restaurant recommendations? Ideally we’d park the truck at the hotel and walk to dinner.

At a glance, it looks like 8th street and the Basque block are good options?

Camping- all persons present.

I just read that all persons must be present at check in, but my friend is arriving on day 2 who’ll be camping with me. Is this really going to be a problem? Seems like this would be a regular occurrence.

Camping lines

I’m hearing that the lines can be kind of a nightmare to get into camp. I’m coming to RDS next weekend and it wouldn’t be a huge deal for me to arrive on Thursday night rather than Friday. Would this save me some time in line or do tons of people show up on Thursday too?

Camping cooking

I just read on the website that no types of gas are allowed in camp. Can I really not bring a jet boil for the most basic of cooking?

I feel like this is one of those “no recreational cannabis allowed” rules where it’s just on the site for liability reasons.
