Sourcing cables and housing?
I am the bike mechanic for the family and end up going through lots of cables and housing. Any tips on getting good quality cables and housing for a good price? I remember buying a Jagwire kit one time, maybe...

Want any and all ideas...
I've had this Kelly Knobby X cross bike for about 10 years. It's a sick bike--steel tubing, snappy, classic cross bike stuff like cantis and a high bottom bracket. For a while it was my main adventure/gravel/trail bike. It was set up like in pic 3 with drops and an Alpha Q carbon fork.
As time went on, I got sick of drops. Recently I've been riding the green bike in the last pic all the time. Sort of a 90s mtb 26" cruiser convert. I've wanted to get back on a 700c snappier lighter bike like the Kelly for longer, faster rides, but to ride it like a cruiser. Put the steel fork on and tried these Velo Orange Left Bank bars and the handling is a mess.
I want to make it something fast and fun, but as I've gotten older and fatter I'm more interested in some comfort. My current thought is to get a riser drop bar like the Surly Truck Stop and see if I like it still. But I'd like to think of some possibilities for where it could go. Thoughts include...
-A 1x white industries crank and other drive train upgrades/changes
-smoother 700x40 tires -- this is more of a road and crushed limestone trail bike?
I want this to be something pretty different from my green cruiser (pic 4)--that thing is a go anywhere monster. But I want some help imagining where to take it.
For context--I live in central Missouri. Lots of gravel and rail trail and rural road riding. Used to ride 100 miles but now more interested in fun afternoon rides. Don't need or intend to commute or overnight or otherwise carry anything on this thing--I have that other bike for that.
Will be out there in July. I'll bring my cruiser convert 90s MTB. Any fun single track for a rigid 26er?
