What is a successful response to student body mocking of Teacher?

I have been teaching for 15 years but somewhat new to middle school. I’m surprised the student has been tapping his under chin because I do have a small double chin and then recently holds up his arm and taps the underside of his arm and it’s only when I’m wearing short sleeves that he does this, and he looks at his friend and laughs….
Keep in mind. This is a newcomer to the United States from a Latin country. I think there’s a fair amount of misogyny/ machismo. Not an excuse… I’m just giving context. Of course I’m shocked and I don’t like it. I’m just surprised he keeps doing it…
I know what you are doing. - it is not OK… so…. How serious is it? I am already talking to the social worker and plan to call his parents, but has anyone else experienced this and what have you done? Thanks.

Example of my Voicemail —— debt collector, debt collector, missed Appointment auto message, debt collector, repeat.. Success story to share on getting yourself to do a hated task?

Does anyone have experience to share about a common simple task that you hate and how you had success getting yourself to do it?

Possible solutions to schedule in calendar - reminder- every Wednesday during boring meeting: ‘check VM log.’ It’s a task I hate… Any other tips for how to get myself to do it? I’m excellent at ignoring Reminders. Maybe I have too many.

Cymbalta- Duloxetine helpful now to me

Hi

I have ADHD and I ran out of my VYVANSE long story… Anyways, I just took my duloxetine. I doubled it so 120 instead of 60 hopefully this will help me! If you have any experience, please feel free to chime in.

Hey cool people! One thing I’m working on in my life is noticing success.

writing it down and talking about it. I think people often talk about what needs to improve. What is a struggle. That’s legit, but I have not been balancing that with acknowledging what is going well so here goes… TLDR schedule send and box breathing…

Anyways I definitely struggle with impulsivity. I think I have the hyperactivity of mind thing so you may have already heard of this but what saves me at work especially with emailing is schedule send. I love it so very much. I get lots of good ideas late at night and after work hours I just type up a good email and then I schedule send it for 7 AM the next morning it delights me that people think I am up getting all these great ideas before 7 AM. Then I click send so schedule send if you don’t know it look it up. I use Gmail. It’s amazing. Next thing blurting out and verbal impulsivity. Oh my! Gotta say it gotta say it gotta say I gotta say it! —- You know what I’m talking about?

I struggle with it most if I haven’t had sleep or I’ve had too much caffeine.

Sidenote, if it’s at all possible before any interview or important meeting, make sure you’ve got good sleep and no caffeine! Trust me been there! done the blunders for you! Many many times.

Here’s what helps me.

Box breathing. Counting in my head inhaling for 9 exhaling for 12. Also does not matter. The exact number is just a longer exhale.

Watching the clock sometimes helps: if I know I’m emotionally dysregulated. I might say to myself, “I am not going to say another thing until 1:38…”

it didn’t work in my latest meeting, but that’s OK! Onward.

What hacks help you succeed? 💜💜
