Underwriting career

Hi everyone, I’m moving to GR as soon as possible for family reasons. I am looking for job in underwriting.

I’ve applied to several positions and haven’t heard anything back yet so I figured I’d come here and see if anyone had any leads or recommendations on where to apply!

TIA 🫶🏼

Underwriting

Hi Everyone!
I’m a lawyer & a mom - I currently do healthcare law /compliance. I’ve also done probate & estate and personal injury so I have a lot of experience dealing with insurance. My expertise is really in policy and regulation.

I’m coming here, because I’m looking for a new profession that matches my current lifestyle. I have no problem with busy hard work because honestly that’s all I know, but I’m hoping to be remote now that I have two littles. I need the flexibility of being home and keeping a similar salary.

I was looking into switching careers to underwriting because I feel that my skillset and education would easily transfer over, but I’m struggling to break into the market because so many applications require 5 years of specifically UNDERWRITING. Anyone have any experience in this?

TIA

Glasses

I have two little boys who are 3 and 2, they love hockey. We are up North, they can both skate but obviously just family fun!

However, both of my boys need to wear glasses.. one day when they are older they’ll have the option for contacts if they choose to play and continue in the sport.

For now though, do any of you parents have experience in your kids wearing glasses while playing/skating? Did it affect your helmet choosing? Right now they just wear their Bauer youth helmets and it’s not a big deal because they still have a tad bit of room.. I just want to be safe and I don’t want their glasses to affect them playing as youth!

Over fermentation

This is my third loaf, the first two were edible but very very ugly

I had high hopes this time because my dough increased in size, had bubbles on top and underneath. However it was a sticky mess and didn’t really hold shape 😭

I did all the tests: it had a dome shape, increased in size by 50%, had a few bubbles on the top, had a marshmallow like consistency

It was the first time I felt like AHA! But then when I got it out to shape it, it was sticky and I could tell it was over proofed.

My first loaf was also over proofed, my second loaf didn’t rise, and now this one

I can’t identify what I’m doing wrong but I can’t seem to understand the proofing process ??

PLEASE HELP LOST DIAPER BAG WITH MY ID INSIDE

Please someone help!!
Last night I left my diaper bag outside of the children’s museum. It has my ID in it. I’m not a native, I’m going home to Texas today and I need all my stuff. It has my baby’s medicine in it!! And also my ID!

There was a black jeep that parked next to us last night around 7:30-8pm.

Has anyone seen or heard of someone finding a blue diaper bag!?!?

Saugatuck or Grand Haven?

Going to one of these two on Sunday. We’ve heard great things about both! Obviously it’s too cold to be in the water so we are looking for best beach town. We have two toddlers. Were looking for scenery (not hiking), shopping and good food

Frederik Meijer Gardens or Windmill Island Gardens in Holland ?

I have two toddler boys who love to be outside, my husband and myself and my mom and mother in law visiting GR next week. I would love to do both of these things, but if we can only do one, which one??

My husband and I can enjoy and romanticize everything! My mom and MIL however are more hard to please and if they have to pay for tickets to something I don’t want to hear them whine lol

Visiting Memorial Day Weekend

My family and I are visiting GR over Memorial Day weekend! We’ve never been. What are some must do things??
We’re willing to drive within an hour of the city!

TIA!

Edit**
We are absolutely going to the lake!! We’ve been to Lake Michigan before (we are Ohio natives) but we are now in TX. Our kids are born and raised in TX so it’s fun to show them up north. My husband and I have been to the UP but we’ve never been to GR! We are staying downtown for 5 days so I guess anything in the greater city besides the lake because we are absolutely having a lake day or two
